Are you portuguese?
Funny that i posted a topic in my facebook page about the very fact that myself as being part of the portuguese hiphop scene am very disappointed with today's hiphop community. They don't give a # about the universal social problems.
HipHop is revolution, what's up with this people?

I took that oath. the domestic enemy part has always been disconcerning. application of martial law, going after American citizens ect. is a very wary path to tread.

Although I have yet to sympathize with OWS, in fact i find them very threatening to Capitalism and the American way of life and Pursuit of Happiness, i find calling them domestic enemies a bit too far at this point. I feel they mistake rights for entitlements. One is only guaranteed the right to pursue happiness, not the right to have it.

My fears are that the anarchists, socialist and terrorists will use the disorganized state of OWS to their advantage. I wouldn't be surprised to see the 1% they oppose to start pulling some puppet strings of their own.

I think that they are off to a good start.

This group I can assure you is a staunch and firm supporter of The United States Armed Forces as we are sick of seeing y'all being sent into harms way to fight the threats of The SCUM

Last time I checked the US Military was a volunteer force. The majority of veterans that I talk to believe in what they are doing.

By the way, define SCUM.

Yes, I'll state I again, MOST!

Most, because I dare not lump them all into the same category by calling them 99% of ninety niners.
Who the hell gave them the right to call themselves the 99% when they didn't even bother to check with everyone, including myself, to protest on our/my behalf?

That's right, they just took it upon themselves and assumed it would be ok because that's what they do, take.

Most of them may share the common sentiment, but only to a point because at some point, when push comes to shove they will only look out for number one.

Most of them are ill prepared to go the whole ninety-nine yards because most of them live for the day, and in this modern day world, things get boring right away, especially since most of the most
are poitically correct and disgruntled youth.

If these misguided kids spent as much effort finding a job and trying to prove they have something of value to contribute to society as they spend "protesting" they might not be in this situation.

I hate to tell them but NOBODY is going to give them something for nothing. They can't expect to be handed a cushy job because that's what they think they deserve. Their grandparents would be ashamed of the entitlement mentality of these kids.

i agree with this. I would bet that 80% of all soldiers sailors airmen ect want to be over there. I would state further that the majority of the dissenting members are from the national guard and reserves and many of them were on Stop Loss. My objection to the recent wars was limited to the use of stop loss as a back door draft on national guardsmen and reservists. I stand by the opinion that Stop Loss should be used only during national emergency state side and declared wars.

My contract ended in September, but was extended indefinitely BEFORE i was deployed. I deployed in December and wasn't allowed to end my service till July the following year, a 21 month extension! At that point my volunteer status technically ended.

The SCUM is the new name for TPTB as TPTB suggest and hints and they are better then us for which they are most certainly not.

Remember soldier, as long as your charges are being peaceful and are not provoking or causing undo harm to another makes them no threat at all.

You are one bounced cheque away from joining them!

Read up on something called "The Posse Comitatus Act Of 1878" and see how far that gets you.

Thank you for your service but the current conflict is over energy dominance. How many tours you on? You know that since we are technically at war the 4 year deal is nullified right?

There are many who are burned out. There's a thread on ATS where a Marine offed himself just so that he wouldn't be forced to endure tour No, 9! 9 Tours, ridiculous!

We are fighting to make sure that our military isn't being exploited due to it being popular to expand The SCUM's empire or to aide and abet the misuse of our Armed Forces.

I know what you mean. I was forced out of the Navy in 1988 due to injuries I recieved during my service. In 1990 I was involuntarily recalled due to specific knowledge of a system that might have come into use in Desert Storm. I was on active duty for over five months, but, I wasn't covered under the Soldier's and Sailor's act, so I lost my job and had to start from scratch. The justification for recalling me was that I had originally extended to recieve specific orders before my injury so my inactive reserve status covered me during that time. The funny thing is that I spent two years trying to stay in the Navy even if I had to do it in the Reserves.

I did one tour and did not reenlist due to the stop loss. Not getting trapped into involuntary service again.

However the real proof of their tenacity will be delivered when there is 3 feet of snow on the streets of New York City and its 10 degrees F outside.

well with the price of keeping your home warm these days, and the unemployment figures, maybe many will feel like they have nothing to loose, it will be cold at home anyway.

Look, either you and your other bullyboys can listen to reason, accept that you are trashing other people's rights and intimidating hard working people trying to put food on the table for their family and go back to your average, boring civil service jobs pushing a coffee cup around the table, or it's going to come down to the Police and...

...to the cheers and jeers of thousands of honest people.

At some point everybody has to question what they’re doing and why they’re even here, what they’re doing in their job, if they’re being expressive of their Democracy. And a greater question: what did they ever really do to be considered an American? Did you fall out of a pussy in New York or New Jersey or Kansas; that’s why you’re an American? Did you ever stand up for your Human rights or your Civil rights? Did you ever try to reform a government that’s done nothing but leach this country dry, stealing from people constantly?

why did this thread die overnight!??

The OP video is one of THE BEST, most clearly stated, profound and passionate I've heard during the entire movement!

listen to 2 minutes.... and you'll wanna hear the whole thing! check it out

i have noticed that the movement is getting much less attention lately overall. Its just the way the media works, front page headlines followed by Jessica Simpsons baby.

Now Greece that is some real news. Wait till OWS gatherings become Greece style riots. No matter what ones feelings on OWS this is a catalyst to a serious situation.
