I said that merely to ram home a point to someone who was being quite insensitive and you took it out of context. Did you happen to read my other posts on this thread? Did you happen to look back on the previous comments to see what we were talking about? I’m guessing no, you didn’t.

Because if you did, you would know that I am a Home Health Care Specialist. You would know that I have worked for a family (for just over 5 years) whose son is a 39 year old Special Needs Patient, and yes he is autistic. His name is Ricky and he is my best friend.
When I take him to the Mall or for pizza to get him out of the house for a while, I see how people look at him and treat him. I have even seen people go out of their way to avoid him. I see what he goes through every day and so does he. I have felt his pain when he looks at me and says “Why can’t I be like everyone else?” How are you supposed to hear that and look at his face and not feel any pity?
I don’t like to give out the specifics’ of my life here on ATS, but in this case I felt I had to.
So don’t judge me on one word you can take out of context and try to blow it out of proportion just to start an argument and yet again designed make someone go off topic. Save that for the Elenin threads.
Now do I sound misinformed?

We never sang God Save The Queen thankfully. We sang Advance Australia Fair at school assembly i believe it was Monday morning yes. But i never said "I" didn't know more than one verse. I said most of the population. The older people (50+) are more familiar with God Save The Queen while the younger ones were taught to sing Advance Australia Fair. My point is, if you go out and ask anyone 15-40 to sing all of the anthem, you're going to have a few problems.

Most people tend to just hum it or pretend they're singing but in Swahili or something.

I must be living in a strange place. We have no problem busting out into a party. The video looks like a normal occurrence here. Am I missing something?

So the question remains...
Who or what is America?

Is it the hard working honest folks making ends meet every month, barely, or its government that makes corporate greed the true fuel in its engines, or maybe its unmatched military forces, waging 2 or 3 wars at the same time, draining the coffers in a mad rush to spend what it has purchased.

Yeah united we can achieve everything, we can move mountains if we wished, we could turn this pile of uncertainties into something less inhumane.

Unfortunately we can only get together for this kind of things, yeah its beautiful, but what about the loosing of our freedoms? or the unfair trading systems we depend on to ultimately, break and then sell everything we believed in.
Why cant we get along on other things?

I wished my beautiful anthem could save America, if only a song had that power...

It was embarrasing for him,why would they make someone with some form of tourettes sing this and start laughing(as they knew he would).

As someone else said,he messed up and some people in the crowd sang.

I'm sorry i misunderstood. Yeah, you are correct, it’s a shame though. It’s actually pretty appropriate, well the new version is the old version actually warns off any invading army lol which i think is pretty cool lol not many anthems threaten invaders

I'd be laughing too if a lady was signing the national anthem as I was trying to sing it in front of thousands of people. Especially them folks up in bAstan, they can get a little rowdy.

This thread is a good example how desperate people are for a bit of love and kindness. And you dont need anything special to change the world. Just follow your hearth.

You say "something amazing happened". I see an autistic man messing up a national anthem and people laughing BECAUSE IT WAS FUNNY. They were only singing to get it over with. Couldn't watch the whole thing because I find your national anthem and every other aspect of your nation totally repulsive and sickening.
