Anyone see the show this guy was on last night?

Here is the clip....

It's "Countdown With Keith Olbermann"

Anyone else have an issue with his credentials still?

There is only " One Marine ". Where are the others ? I have said it for years and will continue to to say it. The American People do not have the will to fight for there own freedom. We deserve exactly what we are getting now.

It's my opinion that modern war vets get way too much credit. They aren't the soldiers of yesteryear. They have technology far surpassing their opponents, and for the most part engage in zero combat.

Why do we grovel at the feet of people who roll into a stone-age down with tanks and armored cars and kill tons of civilians?

From what I saw he started it. If you even push a cop or sometimes just poke a finger you can be charged whit assault on an officer. the police hitting in his head was a little much but they are allowed to use what ever force necessary to keep them from braking a blockade.

Flea party strikes again breaking blockades, tresspassing and sitting in fountains. Yeah sure does sound like peaceful civil disobedience. NOT!

Ignorance much??

how is that ignorant?? he's trying to make a point if you are too immature to figure it out. This man needs to be heard, and his video must go viral. obviously youve never been in the military, or over seas fighting have you. (thats a rhetorical question, I already know the answer due to your post.) pull your cranium out of your gluteus maximus, and get with the program huh? Please explain how this was an ignorant comment this man said? This man is heated and emotional like a lot of people there at that protest, and is sick and tired of cops coming to peaceful protests trying to make a show of force statement by abusing people. If someone hit me with a baton because they didnt like where I was standing or the message I was trying to put out, and I'm the one not being violent. Those cops better watch out, they are the ones being ignorant, get your facts strait first, then you can distort the truth as you like from there, but dont come on here saying that this man is ignorant, or laugh at his words when all you've done for your country is sit at your keyboard and gripe and moan, and make fun of others..............

wow, here is another person who needs to be schooled. are you for the rich corporations, are you for the crooked gov.? are you saying its ok for cops to punch women in the face, beat people over the heads with batons, drag people down the street till they are bloody. Sounds like you are a traitor and on the wrong side, who do you work for, who do you profit from? go ahead tell us, youre brave enough to put an ignorant comment up like this, tell us more. tell us how you want to be a slave to the system. This is exactly what needs to be done. this is what gets attention. Your saying that none of these rich bastards who have screwed the US for so long, and got so rich because of it have done nothing wrong to get there, or break/bend the rules to there liking to get things accomplished. c'mon, pull your head out to man. These protesters are bending, and breaking rules just like the gov to try and make a point and be heard. but these people are getting beaten for these infractions. enough is enough finally. sometimes doing the right thing is not always doing the right thing if you can understand that. Now, .................go goose step around your pad for a while, and think about this comment.

It is funny how others can criticize soldiers for fighting in Afghanistan, hell I have done it also. But I will add I have also praised soldiers who have fought over seas.

But when a Marine stands up and speaks out for those who are sick and tired of the way the Criminal Scum in Wall street, are raping them of their incomes, their jobs, and are then beaten for doing it, when he comes and speaks out for these people. That is one true Marine for you. I have more respect for this Marine than half of the so called Marines who come to ATS.

The Officer who Punched the individual during Occupied Wall street Protests, might receive a rap over the knuckles for his tactics he used during it. And it's this video, taped last Friday, that gave ground for one of the inquiries.

I wonder if he will get away with this. With the video footage and the amount of witnesses, what is a rap over the knuckles nowadays?

the rap on the knuckles will probably be suspended with pay for 30 days, thats probably about it sad to say. wait till someone big like this guys is in the crowd while the abuse is going on and finally says enough is enough, and knocks one of these cops right out of his boots. I'm not trying to incite violence or rioting, I'm am trying to incite self defense. If someone is attacking you with a weapon, or beating on you with there hands, it's human nature to stop the attack on you. All these people who are laying down and taking the beatings, I give lots of credit to, for being as passive as they are. I on the other hand do not have the patience to take a whooping and not trounce the person for doing it, same if I saw it happening to someone else. boy this stuff makes me

Actually I thought it would all kick off over here in the UK On the Saturday and Sunday, with all the scuffles which took place. But after the Chancellor or the Cathedral told the Police to basically shove off and leave the protestors alone. It has been peaceful there also.

I am just wondering how much more are guys over going to take before someone kicks off. All I have seen from footage is protestors letting themselves being taken down or beat down by Officers who, pledged to Serve and Protect.

I read this from the Article in the Guardian might be some Officers are not happy with what is going on:

Gene O'Donnell, a former NYPD office and prosecutor who is now a professor of law and police studies at the City University of New York, said large protests were policed by a "hodgepodge" of different units. While each borough has a task force for rapid crowd control, other officers from non-specialist units and outer boroughs are also drafted in to bolster the numbers.

"There's friction between cops and their leaderships that gets exposed," said O'Donnell. "That's when you have the potential for over-reaction from people with white shirts. It's a very difficult place for a middle manager to be.

If this is off topic then oks WARN ME.

I would pay just to have a conversation with him for one day or even one night

Mind you I would probably do that with any Marine, just to hear their personal stories etc.

I am wondering if there is a thread of Ex marines or Serving marines, air force, navy, or army, who come to ATS on their personal stories, while serving in the military. And what it has done to them. I would love to read some of them.

Yeah was reading the Guardian articles earlier, there are two about two different officers who will be investigated.

And that one who punched the woman to the floor.... literally knocked her down, he also attacked and roughed up another protester... I hope they take his badge.

The guy is a prick.

well I certainly thought it applied to this situation and the ridicule that these protests have suffered, and now we're seeing the violence.... victory may not be too far away.

Personally I think cops didn't touched this guy, not because he was big. Most of them in their career propably had to take out some serious dudes at some stage. They coulda take him down in heartbeat, just a matter of number of officers involved.

No no. I can make a bet, that they had clear order to not engage him until he would done something that would clearly and undiscussably justify it.
If they did just tased him down on a camera, well... just imagine. Public would propably go angry a little bit, perhaps eveeeen more than for macing defenseless woman, but that wouldn't be a biggest problem.

His fellow marines would
.

I can only speculate, some people here said he's disgrace because he didnt have shirt tucked in
yaddayadda, but id say, corps would drop on NY like a hammer.
