Just a thought here. You may have been listening to skip. We are getting close to a solar maximum right now and sometimes when the sunspot count is
higher than normal radio signals start doing strange things. CB radios will sometimes be able to transmit for hundreds or thousands of miles. And the
same thing for commercial radios as well. Denver police radios walking all over Chicago police transmissions and such.
That crying baby may have been hundreds of miles away.
No offense, but a baby monitor and a CB are two completely different technologies......no, she was not picking up a transmission from 1000 miles
away.
Have you been watching the movie signs?
you clearly do not know what you are talking about so you shouldnt bother posting to insult somene who does,
cb radio and baby monitors are indeed very similiar technology the only real differences are transmiting power=distance and an only slightly different
frequency range, neither of these differences have any effect on the validity of the post you replied to in an effort to 'debunk' or ridicule
cb radios 27-MHz

baby monitors 49 MHz,

i have a radio scanner have been using it for years my uncle was employed in telecomunications he designed much of the radio system used by the police
of this largest city in my state portland oregon. he taught me alot about this subject and what the poster said about propagation and potential for a
radio signal to inadvertently be carried by a wire is absolutly possible and happens every single day all around you.
i often will use my radio scanner to filter through all frequencies between 25mhz up to 2 ghz and i will often encounter the neighbors baby monitor
at the same time as i encounter cb radio transmisions this is not a surprise at all considering how similiar and near the two frequencies are to each
other
@ OP it is absolutely likely your baby monitor is capable of recieving transmissions from other products, there are only so many frequencies out
there alotted to the companies designing them and over the years their options for what frequency to use have not changed much, there are absolutely
many many many more baby monitors produced and existent in your state alone then there are frequencies for them to broadcast on (as alotted to them)
if i was you i would do as one poster suggested and walk around with your monitor on to try and locate the strongest spot where you recieve that
frequency. you may end up walking to a house its coming from, or you may find it is coming out of your walls, (the wires in them.)
