The world started the official global OWS protest yesterday.

Already, police in Sydney, Australia have arrested protestors and confiscated most of their gear:

About 200 of them set up camp outside the Reserve Bank of Australia in Martin Place on Saturday, launching a day of "global revolution" against corporate excess.

But as night fell, police moved among them, removing tents, mattresses and other gear.

In Rome, protestors are burning cars and goverment buildings as well as smashing bank windows:

denouncing bankers and politicians over the international economic crisis, with violence rocking Rome where cars were torched and bank windows smashed.

In Rome, the march degenerated into running street battles between groups of hooded protesters and riot police who fired tear gas and water jets into the crowd.

A police spokeswoman said several people were arrested and at least four people were injured in the clashes, including one protester hit by a bottle as he tried to restrain militants and a police officer who broke his leg.

sounds like rome has the right idea...protesters in american need to take a page from their book... The corrupt government and financial system will learn sooner or later who America belongs to. When people get sick and tired of hearing the same B.S. and excuses and it really starts to affect people from poor to upper middle class they will realize its time to fight once again for what america stands for and take it back from the people who wish to control us and turn us into a population of sheep for them to heard.

Sound like Rome has the right idea? And this is why protesters won't get support from the silent voter. How many cars owned by the middle class were burned? Most likely all the cars that were burned were owned by the middle class. Now there's probably alot of hard working middle class people out of a job, at least for a while, bec ause the building where they work is gone.

Where's my christmas present mumy? I couldn't get you one dear because the building where I worked was burned down and I'm out of work. Tools.

steveknows is right, as soon as destruction, chaos and/or violence comes into play, the message is lost. people need to stop doing the easy thing, and start doing the right thing... it's easy to resort to violence and destruction to get attention, but it isn't the right thing to do.

Yah your right... maybe the jews should have just shut their mouths and let hitler do his thing and maybe if they were quiet enough he might have let them live?

Maybe black people should have just kept their mouths shut and waited for someone to give them freedom from slavery

Maybe women and black people should have just waited around for someone to give them their civil rights to be equal to a white man rather then fighting for it.

How do you know they weren't burning high end cars that belonged to the people they are protesting?

You have to break a few eggs to make an omelet

People who think they are going to change anything by "talking" about it and "hoping" that things will just get better need to study history...

This country was founded by people who fought for it they didn't ask the English if it would be cool if we just keep america for ourselves and they screw off back to England.

America has been corrupted and its time the people FIGHT and TAKE it back not ask for the rights we are already suppose to have.
