While the news report says Monday through Thursday for the demolition events (which is correct), the actual Marine Corps noise advisory gives details of further events, from Thurs Oct 13 through to Friday Oct 21. For example, there was artillery live fire conducted on Saturday Oct 15 and also between 0600 and 0800 today (Sunday).

There'll be more artillery, mortar and fire during the week to go along with the demolitions. Pretty busy week, by the sound of it.

I guess it's up to the OP and others within the region to determine if what they heard might match in with artillery fire or not. I suppose that one thing to consider is that very likely, there have been plenty of live-fire exercises over the years at MCB Camp Pendleton. If the OP and others haven't heard the same sounds previously it's difficult to equate what they are reporting now with the live firing/demolitions.

We have people on the team who are from San Diego and live close to Camp Pendleton and they were the first ones to notice how out of the ordinary the sounds were. They mentioned San Onofre and Pendleton and said they have never heard anything like this from either place.

Is there a gunnery range near where you play ball?.You mentioned it sounded off in the distance, Where im from we have a gunnery range where A-10's and F-16's practice.

Not that I know of, it is a suburban area and don't think we have any gunnery ranges nearby.

Hey 4th Fullerton here. I didn't hear a thing up here, but when I lived in Also Viejo a few years
back you could hear those live fire runs from Pendleton. My guess is that if it doesn't sound
right to some people it's because they got some new kinds of toys, maybe??

Well I've heard those too on November 15 about 17:00 (GTM +3) Time line. It was 5 - 10 low frequency booms and they looked like are coming from the sky. My father also heard those. Must say I felt those with my full body.

I was cutting the grass with my motor grass cutter around my house and still I was able to hear those.

I live in west Virgina.I'm not hearing the same sounds but i did hear a boom sound..I couldn't find the source of it,,This happened last night

Ya, no, I have to remain quite skeptical of these not so bothersome noises. I'm in So. Cal everyday all day long and I haven't heard squat. I'll let you if I ever do buit I have some doubts that I will.
