As long as it remains peaceful I don't care how the protesters approach protest. I do NOT want to deny anyone or any group the right to protest so long as they follow what the Constitution prescribes. PEACEABLE ASSEMBLY.

You seem to hold the constitution dearly. The constitution is good in principle. But you are defending the very people who are violating the constitution, in the name of the constitution. Do you not see the irony?

If it came between the constitution and standing up for what's right. I would use the constitution as toilet paper, because no piece of paper that hasn't actually been upheld since it's existence is going to govern my existence.

At this point the protesters are being so calm it's almost uncanny. Just sitting there looking at the cops, looking at them. I think it would feel very surreal to be there.

"We got a black president; you're acting like one right now B; pay your fudgin bills on time!"

Speaking of minority activists, can someone please explain why 99% of the 99% appear to be white? Where are all the minorities who get screwed over by the system on a daily basis? Have they all been framed and thrown in jail by the NYPD?

The lawful assembly argument is a little weak. By the same token, you could say the laws that made blacks sit at the back of the bus were fine because the law provided for people to get there.

If your speech isn't disruptive, no one is going to care. That's the point of civil disobedience. Otherwise, you might as well be a parade. It shouldn't be violent, but if their argument is this system is destroying their lives, then disrupting it is the best way to make the point.

It may not be legal. But it sure as hell isn't wrong.

Democracy means that 51% of the vote can extinguish my rights.
No thanks.

Capitalist democracy means that 1% can extinguish them as well, but you don't see that as a problem ?

Do you even know what Capitalism is?

Capitalism doesn't force you to do anything. Other than make of yourself what you will.

Democracy is MAJORITY RULE and to hell with the rights of the minority. our republic wasn't set up that way, sorry to tell you.

Secondly what happened during the '08 bailouts wasn't anything short of socialism. Taking from one group of people and giving it to another. That's wealth redistribution. That has already proven to not work well. So why do OWS people keep asking for it in reverse?

Why not sensible banking reforms like Glass-Steagall? Why not flattening and simplifying the tax code so that this class warfare of "pay your fair share" simply stops?

Why, instead are we hearing cries to end capitalism? And replace it with what? Democracy? Rule by numbers? You know what that gets you? A ruling class. Something the founders were against. If you can remove the power of government you can have a more fair society. How? Because the power government assumes for itself is often co-opted and bank-rolled by special interests. It is the reason we have the system we do today. Wall St. is the worst place to protest. Washington is where OWS should be. And they should be declaring with one voice that they want reform. Instead they are screaming about Revolution.

I hope they realize that one of the caveats of the Constitution is that insurgency and insurrection is considered a crime against the union.

I think you are just saying this because you refuse to admit that 99% of the American people are being controlled by the other 1%. Wake up my friend, we all know this entire individualistic concept of capitalism will eventually lead to a revolution, this is exactly what Marx predicted.

Uh huh.

Marx huh.

Screw marx and his lackey followers.

I'm saying that because my parents escaped a Marxist regime.

I'm saying this because I know the truth in my heart.

99%... They don't speak for me. I speak for me.

The error in this argument is that once you make it to the top 1% via individualistic diligence, this in turn, you will indirectly screwing 99% of the population with your wealth. We all know that some people are not as capable as others, and this my friend, eventually leads to a growing class difference. Wealth redistribution has not worked well because human greed is in play, if you take greed out, then voila, we have a solution.

I wouldn't call it a Marxist regime, I would call it, a greed backed "we think we are true communist regime." The entire point of the American propaganda is to infuse this hate towards Communists/Socialists, America wanted the Soviet Union to crumble, not because the system did not work, but because they wanted to be the only ones in power and in control. I can tell that with all of the American propaganda that is going against the Communists, I can tell you are lacking information regarding Marxism and pure socialism.
