Like many others here on ATS, I have read over what is getting to be a never ending onslaught of OWS threads. I know everyone likes to read a good story, but it seems like the more I read, the more frustrated I get! To be honest, I don’t know what is real and what isn’t!

A lot of people talk about the mainstream media throwing out their own interpretation of what they see and believe, and most people are perturbed because the stories they portray to people are so far from the truth. Anyone with a brain knows not to look to the mainstream for accurate honest reporting. I am seeing the same thing with OWS on ATS. Some would say that it is a good mix of liberal and conservative thinking, but the truth is that the larger majority associated with OWS are liberal. The recent survey result from ATS indicates that 24% of all ATS member support the cause. 40% “strongly” support it. 9% oppose it, 16% strongly oppose it, and 12% are neutral. I am curious what percentage of liberals partake in the OWS cause compared to conservatives? It is obvious that more liberal partake in the movement, but still, I would love to see the numbers. I would also like to see the numbers associated with age participation.

A video says a lot! But interpreting what is caught on video is another story. It’s great that there are many out there with video recorders reporting, but they need to be honest! A good example is the recent video of the motor cycle that ran over the demonstrator. Here is the video….

If you correlate the two, you can see “exactly” what is going on! The protesters are antagonizing the police and getting in the way of their motorcycles! Common sense tells you not to jump in front of a moving vehicle! And if you do so, there are going to be repercussions! A person is going to get hurt! When I read thru the posts on both motorcycle threads, people were furious that people were getting hurt by the motorcycles! People were asking that the police have their heads served on a silver platter! And the sad reality is a lot of people on the threads agreed! Some even said the protester(s) who got run over should be able to turn around and run over the police! And we’re not talking about another motorcycle, were talking something larger like a car or truck! And since when did the cops on Wall Street become terrorists, rapists, murderers, child molesters, etc.? Of course, no one ever complains about the police when they need them to come to their aid. Can you imagine what the world would be like if we didn’t have them? Just one word…”chaos”! But then there are a lot of people who are looking for that! Not only chaos, but also anarchy!

And it’s not just the police. If you are in any way associated with Wall Street or against it, you are anti-god, anti-American, communist, socialist, atheist, Satan, pervert, etc… There is a video (can’t seem to find it) of some stock exchange workers getting harassed by protesters! You do realize they are people like you and me, trying to do their jobs? You’re not going to see some multi billionaire hanging out on Wall Street selling or buying anything! I am starting to see a twisted picture, and it doesn’t involve those who work on Wall Street! It involves SOME of those who are reporting it! Some of these people need to grow-up! Get your facts straight first people before you start calling everyone a “whatever”, other than a human being!

I try to be biased the best I can with OWS, but if you do disagree with a particular OWS thread, most will surly let you know about it! I love a good debate, and if I feel I am correct, I will stand my ground regardless of how many think otherwise. (Note that I am open to suggestion. So please don’t think other people’s opinions don’t mean anything, they do). People need to be more specific and honest. I see a lot of people misconstrue the articles into what they see fit. I guess if you want to blow a story out of proportion, this would be the place to do it! After all, we’re all here at a conspiracy website. There are always two sides to every book, and if you really want to be a good reporter, you need to be report BOTH sides. Most of the threads I see about OWS, talks about how the police are mistreating the protesters. I have yet to see a thread about how positive the police are. And if you do, you MIGHT find a single line somewhere that says so. So, why is that? Is it because it doesn’t make a good story? Again, it sounds just like the mainstream media to me! If it’s not a good story, you might as well not report it. Am I the only one here on ATS who sees that?

I’m sure many here will disagree with what I’m saying, and I respect that! Maybe one or two here on ATS will defend me on this thread, other than the 80-90% who will choose not to.

So let the fun commence!

Yeah that's what they are defending doesn't matter what they do only the cops anyone with a brain hears a horn and sees a cop on the move to get the hell out of the way but nope make a butt out of themselves and provoke a confrontation.

OWS does need to be honest and stop acting like a bunch of thugs thats not their street as per the chanting that's just ridiculous those people need to go home.

You wanna protest go ahead but that stupidity needs to stop and the dude who got ran over was hamming it up.

I think anyone can see that OWS is being severely demonized by the MSM and
the centralized Conservative media.

It seems outrageous and fantastic that everything that is wrong with the world
and liberalism, is allegedly embodied in OWS, totally and completely.

Not just one or several, of the bad aspects of liberalism, ALL of it.

From dirty hippies

To Lazy welfare recipients

To union thugs

To George Soros

To communists

To Maoists

You would think that hell was cracked open and delivered Armageddon upon conservative
America. Such a total and complete representation of hell personified should tip off any
reasonable person that there is exaggeration and a lot of it.

Why?

Saves the big interests a lot of trouble when you can have the controlled opposition (GOP, etc)
discredit the real opposition, OWS.

I don't think a liberal/conservative analysis of this event is going to work out.

We know that the manipulators play both sides. Always have; always will.

In a crowd, unscrupulous individuals can get away with all sorts of hanky-panky without being properly identified. That's one of the liabilities of crowd actions. If you are part of a real organized opposition, you don't need crowds. But crowds have always been used by political players to show they have "popular support." Even the huge armies of the ancient emperors could be seen as "crowds."

We have seen staged manipulations of protest events in other parts of the world. There is no reason not to expect the same here. Anyone could be responsible for this. The crowd tends to give the perpetrators anonymity.

The only hope I have for this particular movement is that it's not a real movement. It's just a reality. So, if something happens to "disgrace the movement" it really has little meaning. The only thing that could really happen that would "disgrace the movement" would be for full employment to become a fact, and Democracy in the US to start working again.

There are some inside OWS I disagree with, but essentially I agree that something has to be done about the kleptocracy destroying our society.

With that said, If you think this is police brutality or street violence, think again.
Take a look around the world what real violent riots look like.

If you ask for a Tahrir moment, you can't start crying when a scooter runs over your feet.

still chuckling. Oh sorry the issue is not funny but the avatar sure is.

I really do have to agree that the protestors stop in the street and block the vehicles, so the cops stop and people are throwing stuff at them, like wads of paper or something, and the cops get off the bikes. These kids were asking for confrontation. I imagine someone is coaching them....
