Want to know what's maybe better than getting just writer status?

I think getting your story included in the Showcase of Winners is really cool.

Often overlooked and bumped far too little, those stories are the best no matter how long ago they were included.

Great reading.

Man, I've been reading these stories and they are great. There's a lot of talent here on ATS. Whoever wins the contest deserves it and I can't wait to see more creativity from such a great group of people! Thanx to everyone who put their heart and soul into their craft.

The downside is that late submissions may not have enough time to accumulate enough deserved flags.

Shall I close the contest Saturday morning and then bump the entries over the weekend before naming the winners on Monday morning? Would that be fair?

I think that would be a great idea. And it would give, to V1rtu0s0, Rising Against and/or any other member who would wish to contribute at the last minute, an honest chance at getting a fair share of flags.

I would like to add that this contest is a good idea, the competition is fierce as it is over flooded with pure talent !!!

It has been a joy to compete with great writers !

Masqua, my entry has been posted, and here it is [OCC] The Zuccotti Park Anomaly

The window for new submissions to the [#Occ] contest is now closed. However, to be fair to those who posted their stories late, we will allow the weekend for members to read and flag their favourites.

If you've thought about entering the contest but waited too long, don't despair... a Halloween writing contest will be announced on Monday right after the winners of this contest are awarded their prizes.

I've been away a few days. Had to go to a funeral for a close friend of mine down In Santa Barbara but, is there any way that in the future that those of us members who have writers status can be given a U2U headsup?

I feel ya. I found out about it a day or so before, and then decided less than an hour before it was due, to write something.
