he 62-year-old former International Monetary Fund chief had been accused by French writer Tristane Banon of attacking her in a flat in the French capital in 2003. She claimed he had acted like a "rutting chimpanzee".
Following a three month inquiry, judges said the violence shown by Mr Strauss-Kahn happened such a long time ago that a criminal case could not be launched.
While the statute of limitations for attempted rape is 10 years in France, it is only three years for sexual assault.

I wasn't even aware that DSK had previously been accused of attempted rape back in 2003.

I always thought the incident in New York stank to high heaven but having read this I'm back on the fence again.

BUT I will take anything the media reports with more than a pinch of salt... Thoughts?

Backs up the accusations he was forced out of his position. He supposingly had ideas to help sort out the financial problems which are occurring, wither true or not it does make one think wither there are more sinister reasons behind him being removed from the IMF.

Flagged and Starred.

I was always curious as to why people never took into account the number of times (more than two) this guy has been in similar trouble.....

But I suppose political money, prestigious lawyers, and expedient media connections really pays off....

"Justice" for some..... but for troubled immigrants and low-life women, none.... and by definition, any woman who would accuse this gracious and poised 'gentleman' of means and influence must be a low-life opportunistic liar....just ask the press core... and the politicians, and the talking heads... after all, they were the people who convinced the world that this guy would never do such a 'common' and 'profane' thing.

DSK actually had too much of a socialist heart and thought that certain banks needed to be "reigned in".
He wasn't the yes man the Bilderbladders wanted so out he went.
Glad to see he was cleared of the charges though too late to matter about his spot in the IMF or as the possible leader of France.
