Feds investigate voter fraud at SD pro-abortion campaign HQ

Initially we thought UNHealthy Families, Chris Cassidy, and others on the staff there, violated South Dakota state law by committing voter fraud (a SD violation constitutes a misdemeanor - $2000 fine or 4 years in jail). Turns out this is a federal crime which is a felony and the US Attorney and FBI are now involved. A SD citizen filed a complaint and provided a 17 minute audio, video, affidavits and other evidence to the US Attorney and FBI.

(c) Whoever knowingly or willfully gives false information as to his name, address or period of residence in the voting district for the purpose of establishing his eligibility to register to vote, or conspires with another individual for the purpose of encouraging his false registration to vote or illegal voting, or pays or offers to pay or accepts payment either for registration to vote or for voting shall be fined not more than $10,000 or imprisoned not more than five years, or both: Provided, however, That this provision shall be applicable only to general, special, or primary elections held solely or in part for the purpose of selecting or electing any candidate for the office of President, Vice President, presidential elector, Member of the United States Sentate, Member of the United States House of Representatives, Delegate from the District of Colombia, Guam, or the Virgin Islands, or Resident Commissioner of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. PHILADELPHIA—State Representative Bryan Lentz (D-7) said Thursday that only a truly independent investigator can credibly examine the problems with Republican opponent Pat Meehan’s nominating petitions, and he called for the U.S. Department of Justice to pick up the investigation.

During a late-morning news conference in front of the federal courthouse here, Lentz spoke more directly and more forcefully than before about the evidence of fraudulent and invalid signatures his campaign uncovered in poring through the nominating petitions that Meehan, a former U.S. Attorney, submitted to get on the primary ballot in the 7th Congressional District. Lentz also made his most pointed argument to date that Meehan, who is also a former Delaware County District Attorney, is inherently tied to the powerful GOP political machine in the county.

Election fraud: Under certain circumstances, the FBI investigates election frauds that stem from campaign finance crimes, voter/ballot fraud, or civil rights violations.

Read this item on Drudge yesterday. I have to say it surprises me not one bit. What does surprise me, though, is that it was exposed by the Tribune. Seems to be a trend where a lot of shills for the Prez are becoming former shills. Next year should be interesting.
