Illinois Democratic Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. told The Daily Caller on Wednesday that congressional opposition to the American Jobs Act is akin to the Confederate “states in rebellion.”

Jackson called for full government employment of the 15 million unemployed and said that Obama should “declare a national emergency” and take “extra-constitutional” action “administratively” — without the approval of Congress — to tackle unemployment.

“I hope the president continues to exercise extraordinary constitutional means, based on the history of Congresses that have been in rebellion in the past,” Jackson said. “He’s looking administratively for ways to advance the causes of the American people, because this Congress is completely dysfunctional.”

Another politician out and out saying that the POTUS should ignore the Constitution. While I do agree that Congress is dysfunctional, I think that taking this route is fraught with peril and will only make things worse.

Well of course he should. The constitution is nothing more than an obstacle keeping America from being fair for all citizens. It’s full of rules that only favor the rich and selfish among us. Besides, it’s old and antiquated. He should just pass an executive order nullifying the constitution today. It doesn’t benefit the 99%.

After the constitution is nullified, Obama should order everyone who has over $200,000 in the bank to immediately turn that money in to the authorities. Then the money should be evenly distributed to everyone at Occupy Wall Street. That would be the fair and just thing to do. After all, the fact that there are Americans who can’t afford a house, a nice car, a flat screen, vacations, etc is unacceptable. If you’re born in America you are entitled to live a comfortable lifestyle.

While I entirely disagree with the President's authority to do such a thing, and I support the opposition of the Job's bill................. at the same time................

At least this would be SOMETHING! If the president followed this advice, and made a bold decision to spend the $2T bailout money on infrastructure projects and hired up a few million people to fix roads and bridges and power grids.......... I would actually be pretty impressed.

I may disagree with someone's policies, but I can appreciate a strong and bold leader, and I can appreciate results.

So, while I don't think he has the aptitude, authority, or cahones for such a thing, if he did pull it off, I would be impressed.

I would suggest the National infrastructure.

Doesn't take a college degree to weild a shovel, weld or drive a bulldozer. It takes minimal training.

But of course the unions will moan if they are not included, which leaves out the guy looking for work.

Jr. is merely parroting the efforts of Obama his mentor. We have a president that continually seeks to circumvent congress and the powers granted to them by our constitution. If I follow that logic, Jr. is spot on.

Obama, the self proclaimed constitutional scholar, apparently only studied it enough to recognize what he wanted to ignore.

Recent case in point as it relates to Obama's panic push to approve and pay for his stimulus projects
"Scour this report, identify all those areas in which we can act administratively without additional congressional authorization and just get it done," President Obama said today to a "Jobs Council" meeting.

I'm losing track of it all...

Side note. Jr. was never fully investigated for his involvement in Blago's pay to play trial. He still holds a proud place on Judicial Watch's "top 10 most corrupt politicians" list
www.judicialwatch.org...

Jackson got a free pass on that case because only 1 charge stuck against Blago.

I would say he is being sarcastic.

I could be wrong though, it has happened a couple of times before.

Republicans squashed our rights and constitution just as much as the dems, its not a party problem, its systemic, they are all corrupt, everyone of them is bought and paid for.

When you need millions just to get office of course your gonna listen to the people that paid for your election run, its why the system is so screwed up.

Blame them all, and most importantly blame ourselves we've let them do it for far to long.

If the administration tries something like this, he might just get the change he harped about back in '08. The kind of change I am referring to brings out the worst of both sides of the population. Ubber leftists and right wing anarchists. While there is unemployment there are jobs to be had. It is just that today's job seekers want a job that pays $75k or more. That isn't going to happen for most. If you have to work two jobs to pay the bills and put food on the table so be it. I have done as well as a great many of my generation ( That 70's crowd ). Just remember there is no free lunch, dinner, etc. Everything comes at a price if the gov steps in then Freedoms will be lost. Ronald Reagan once said " We are one generation away from losing our freedoms"

I see this as the George Soros - Big Switch -.

------------
We tried free Free Market Capitalism and it's just not working.

Lets throw it out and try the Iron Fist of Socialism and see what happens.

This Jesse Jackson Jr. free candy idea looks tempting. I wonder if it has a down side???
You too can have the wonderful world of Marxism for the low, low, low cost of only $600 Billion.

--------------
In the past George Soros has done this same trick in 5 other nations.

He is probably sitting in a Four Season Hotel somewhere and watching this all on TV.
He is laughing and saying " This is too easy!"

-------------
The communists have come out of the bushes.
This high unemployment rate has turned into a great - tool - for George Soros.
The communists are making their move right now.
- It's now or never! Take the $40,000 free candy today! -

If you take the free candy i just might throw in a - sign on bonus -! $$$

Golly! That sure looks good! I don't know. Maybe...........

Wake up you bunch of useful idiots! - Pawns on the Soros chess board.
