There's no royalty involved, so what Escobar says makes sense. Since Manssor Arbabsiar is alleged to have confessed, part of that being that the
undercover FBI was his actual contact as quoted here,
"According to the complaint, Arbabsiar also admitted to agents that, in connection with this plot, he was recruited, funded and directed by men he
understood to be senior officials in Iran's Qods Force. He allegedly said these Iranian officials were aware of and approved of the use of [the
confidential source] in connection with the plot; as well as payments to [the confidential source]; the means by which the Ambassador would be killed
in the United States and the casualties that would likely result."
Why would then, the Iranian officials pick out this FBI man as their approved contact for Manssor Arbabsiar, they had to know of him more than well,
that would be first base. It's too much a stretch of imagination for them to think that he was anything but FBI considering where he was, and what his
role would be there, unless he was so really dirty himself. And it's also his testimoney that has uncovered this plot, and Manssor Arbabsiar's part in
it. So, if the Iranians have 'patsied' Manssor Arbabsiar in a spoof set-up, what is the purpose, to get more sanctions on their country? or to sway
the big middle-class, and students who are leaning more to western ideas away from that idea? remember the riots in Tehran and elsewhere early this
year? None of that makes sense because the citizens are too smart for that.
