Normally I have nightmares anyway. It's just a common thing for me... but last night was different. All night long the nightmares were about catastrophies and an apolocypse as far as I could gather.

First off, it was all night long. Multiple nightmares. I would wake up, and fall asleep with another nightmare of a slightly different background. Wars, Fires, Disaster... Normally when the fear becomes so great, I will wake up.

However, this time, there was a phrase that actually woke me up multiple times. Below is one of the nightmares in part...leading up to the first time I heard the phrase last night.

Everyone built pires of fires so they would never go out. We needed to be able to boil water and eat food, and if we let the fires go out, we would die. But the war was almost on our doorstep, so some people dug deep long rectangles into the ground (think grave, and you have the idea)... and transferred small fires into their dugout. We all slept in these dugouts with the fires keeping us warm and protect us from the fire fight.
Eventually, the war was on us... though I couldn't see who the enemy was, I instinctivly knew it was the Government vs The People. After all the fighting, I was captured and going to be executed... and as I was being dragged away along with the man who had his dugout near mine, he said "chalk this up to the Fed Year One."

I was in the process of waking up and trying to understand what the phrase meant... It was either Fed FirstYear, or Fed Year One... at this point, I'm a little hazy on it. But I knew that it was essentially a new era. A new calendar. Starting over. And the feds were the cause.

Like I said, I have nightmares normally... but they are usually a lot more personal. This was more... vauge. Like it wasn't me in the body my mind was attached to. Since I never saw myself, I don't know if it was me or not... but I got the distinct feeling it wasn't.

Anyway... just throwing it out there since it was so completely different for me.

All the things you say about your dreams are things I have already read here at ATS. Maybe I will dream up something tonight.

Very interesting. I had a very odd dream as well just last night. Seems like we are all having an increase in out-of-the-ordinary/weird and sometimes catastrophic dreams.

In mine I was looking toward a full moon as I often do(I love sky watching), and behind the moon there was a large fiery looking planet/celestial body. This thing was probably 5 times the size of the moon in the sky. I remember waiting to hear something on the news and at the last moment it was decided that the object was not going to hit the earth. Reminded me somewhat of Melancholia, if you've ever seen the film.

I also have had a dream frequently as of late and there are bright red fire balls raining down onto the earth. Very doomy. I miss nice dreams.

It's actually because they all matched what were all over this forum that I decided to post it. I hadn't even been online in a couple of days before the nightmare though.
I've had catstrophy dreams in the past (before I even knew about this forum) - so in that sense, these weren't much different than those. But those are far a few between. And they are just way different than any of my regular nightmares. Different feel. Different terror when waking up.

But it was that one phrase that stuck out in my head.

Anyway - I don't normally talk about my nightmares, so it's likely the last one you will see from me unless I get some weird one like this again.
