What's up in 2012?
The media is begging candidates to join to race and many of them aren't joining

Did anyone ever see this before?
Ok do you agree with this statement that the media is trying to convince, through constant media hype, other candidates to join.

If you do agree with this then my question to you, since some of you may be older than me, have you seen this before? It is normal? Does it happen almost every race if not at least 1/5th of the time?

It is a very scary thought to think that even after all that pushing and shoving politicians still decide not to run.
What do they know that we don't?

Is something crazy going to happen in 2012?

Are socialists possibly involved?
Asking some not to join and some not so great people TO join?
As soon as software that creates online personas comes about "Occupy Wallstreet" comes about and spreads like wildfire.

Remember the Gifford shooting?
Liberal media left and right screaming "Republican rethoric is at fault, guns don't kill people.. conservative rethoric does"

And now what do they do? "Hate the rich, Hate the rich"
Sooner or later a banker might get shot and then will conservative media be allowed to finger point Olbermanm?

Maybe this OWS might become a massive mob
Who knows

My point is... what's going on?
I know many people will think this thread lacks cohesive thought lol, well I started typing out loud after a few paragraphs HA

Thoughts ATS?

Honestly, I wouldn't want to deal with this mess. This is years and YEARS of bad policies and bad decisions that are all about to boil over. Nope, I'd pass too!

Candidates are always sketchy about running up until the last minute of deadline for announcing candidacy.
It lets them size up who the competition is, what kind of support base they have, and how much money they can get for their campaigns.

Personally I think the next presidential term will be when the S-[size=-3]really-[size=-3]does-HTF.
Perhaps this is why.

I've been on this planet awhile now and I've never seen this occure before.
Part of it probably has to do with the MSM trying to pulll in more candidates so they have something to talk about.

The important part though is that I don't believe the Repubs/Conservatives have found everything they want in one candidate.
They want part of Romney, Paul, Bachman, Palin and even Perry wrapped up into one person.
No one candidate fits all their desires.

i honestly have thought whoever wants to be president has got to be the most ignorant fools that ever lived either that are sadists its crazy thats one job most people will never want to have.

there are extenuating circumstances at the moment aint noone can fix wrong with this country at the moment

there is a most wise saying that has been passed down from generation to generation and that is:

You Can't Fix Stoopid"

and yes that was intentionally mispeled.

You aren't wrong but i'm sure you also don't want a socialist to have another term
Others feel that way too, so hopefully they will run

If I threw a bag of flaming dog # on your front step, would you want to pick it up?

No sir, I don't think you would. Nor would I!!

I'm sure being a lap dog has its perks, but presidents age pretty damn fast while in office. Plus, my soul/sol is worth more than 30 pieces of silver.

There's a socialist in office? Everything he has done has been sheer corporatism. Unless you count the extensions on unemployment checks. Oh, or if you are counting the nanny state relationship between the government and the banks/corporations. If that's the socialism that you're talking about, then I agree with you.

I suppose that anyone who wants to be a real president or prime minister, as they are portrayed to be like in the media, will soon find out that in order to play the game you need to be a puppet. And in foreseeing the coming years I don't blame people for not wanting the be the figure heads of blame, even if they don't make any of the real decisions themselves.

I noticed that for the first time with Bush and one of his last speeches on the economy. I think it was a couple weeks before he was to step down. He looked JACKED up. Hair was a mess, big bags under his eyes.. Now I look at Obama, and he went gray REALLY fast

Yes I am with you on this one. Especially the Republicans. It seems as though TPTB know the next term will culminate in the failure of the United States. If not the complete failure then a severe depression and the concomitant unrest.

Frankly, I think your post is coherent. You're simply putting into words something that doesn't lend it self to describing. A whole series of events..feelings..and lack of events that hint at the same thing. Something wicked this way comes, and others seem to know more about it than the rest of us. Beyond that? All speculation....but there does appear to be something up.

Not only the large scale lack of interest, but the virtual tsunami of resignations and announcements of no intention to seek reelection by politicians from the Senate and House to mid level functionaries all across government. Whatever 'it' is, I guess we won't have too much longer to see what this is all about.

Perhaps that deep gut level feeling of "wrong" (for lack of a better term) I've learned to live with daily for nearly 2 years will finally have explanation.

The thing that's scarier is the (lack of) quality in those who ARE running for nomination by the GOP...

hell no i dont over 150 million americans getting their cheddar from that sugar daddy government we are consuming more than we produce which is one of the biggest reasons "were stoopid"

government is the reason why there is a disparity of wealth and success in this country and you nailed it it is socialism and today is the result of decades of social engineering programs that have never done anything they were ever designed to do hasnt lifted anyone out of poverty or made them rich its drug us all down.

yeah we need someone who gets that and becomes the most hated man in america and finally stand up to the spoled little brats that are known as americans today.

gonna get flamed for that but oh well FLAME ON. we tried their way since 35 its time we tried it our way and oh what a difference it will be.

Jeesh who would want to run for the spot of crap magnet? First off the media will dig up every bit of dirt they can on a candidate. Any person with a family would wisely reconsider, as anything they [family members] have done will be thrown to the wolves also. Second I don't think anybody will want to hear it's all Obama's fault, he already beat that horse to death himself. With the mess the US is in who wants to potentially be the one to try and fix things and screw it up. All the hindsight would make you wonder why they haven't walked off a cliff .
BEing the president is like a big kick me sign these days.

Yes he is a corporatist I agree
I don't disagree with you, but socialism is required to pave the way to corporatism
And now that you have more liberal socialists it definitely makes it easier to be a corporatist

Yes we are in agreement

im in disagreement because that socialist used corporations as a means to an end to gain more power and control over this country taking over 1 sixth of the us economy.

centralized power in the hands of a few elite is the epitomy of socialism government control and proping up that corporate government.
