i just tried to install a game and an error message pops up and says: error 1607: Unable to install InstallShield Scripting Runtime...

what should i do???

how can i fix this if i cant install anything???

Unistall, reboot, try again.

Besure to close all programs.

unistall what the game???

i cannot even install the game (from a cd) the message pops up when i try to install ANYTHING...

last time i had this problem i just got SP1 and it was fixed...

SOOOO...

i am going to get SP2 AGAIN
and install it and see if that works...

Searching for the Error Message on Google will almost always show somebody that has had the same problem.

Here are a few Solutions

open up My Computer and check the amount of free space you have.

reformat.... very easy to do. insert winxp cd and click format. you don't need to reinstall drivers or anything. just backup your stuff.

Maybe a firewall or some anti-virus software you're running in the background is interferring...try turning them off then attempt the install again.

IT WORKS!!!

i installed SP2 again and now it works...

i wonder if this took up more space on my hard drive???

anyway, this is the second time this happined in less than a year...

i wonder if it is going to happin again???
