Obviously,America as a whole is fractured .So I ask these serious questions:

Would or could America get on board with something like this?

Could both movements unite to this common goal, and what change(s) could this usher in?

Could this fix our current financial and economic crisis?

Could it Jump start our Nation?

Should we wait to vote them out,or ask for their immediate resignations?

Could it happen?

As you can see, both movements revolve around this theme. Change .

"Gallup has tracked the public's feelings about Congress since 1974. Breaking down the current negative sentiment by political leaning, independents now have their lowest opinion of Congress on record — a new low of 9 percent approval, easily exceeding the previous low of 13 percent."

Congress' Approval Rating Plummets, Especially Among Independents

So ATS,could this actually be the start of something more worthwhile then Right versus Left?

Would love to hear your thoughts on this........

(Mods,if this isn't where its supposed to be,please move accordingly)

you brought up a great point and question congressional approval is at their all times lows one sought to fire them one sought to protest wall street.

polar opposites and to answer your op no!.

makes sense since the majority of americans doesnt think to highly of congress seems to me the logical course would have been to protest them.

This would be something I'd get behind, but I'd be interested to see what, when exposed to their true intentions, the OWS crowd would say.

Thats my question with OWS also. There is a few things they are asking for as a whole, but its not like there is command structure to it. You need some sort of structure,or it becomes anarchy.

I think what can and needs to occur is in 2012 an Independent/Third Party candidate run on a platform that is not ideologically pinned to any one side, is strictly reform minded, and believes that there is a serious injustice being committed against the American people. This candidate would have to campaign on finding the route cause and severing its head. No, this man/woman would not have to be Libertarian/Socialist/Conservative/Liberal or whatever; they would just have to be willing to have a strong platform, be ready to go against the establishment, and actually fight for America.

There is only one person I can think of at this moment in time that could bring together the left and the right – Jesse Ventura. Ron Paul is another good pick but he would have to drop out of the Republican Party, he brings on board a lot of Liberal anti-establishment/anti-war votes. Basically it has to be someone who recognizes that it is not just Wall Street that is the problem, it is not just Government that is the problem, the problem is that the two of these institutions are morphed together.

No. They are both against the same thing. They need to band together. One is angry that the government for handing out money to big business, the other is made at big business for manipulating the government and taking bailouts. They both want they same thing and are attacking different ends of the same problem. They need to band together. That is why I want people out there protesting OWS to keep their political ideas (abortion, gay marriage, healthcare) out of it so the movement can get the support it deserves.

Misoir,do you believe that we will make it to 2012,without total economic or financial collapse?

I ask cause we are teetering on the brink right now.

The OWS protests want the same thing the Tea Party people want except the TP was hijacked by the right wing media and there are attempts now to hijack OWS by left leaning media. We need to stop it or we are just going to end up with Tea Party v.s. 99% and have politicians preaching from those platforms while subverting the change both groups are seeking. They are going to turn two groups of people that want the same main goal against each other with fringe political platforms.

the are not even close to being the same thing the teaparty was for shrinking goverment across the boards cutting spending for everything.

ows is just for cutting and killing wall street and pushing for more government programs more rules more regualtions and rob from the rich and give to the poor.

same thing that has led us here a mix of the two? no there is only one way SHRINK GOVERNMENT lessen its power and control that is the only way.

It is funny you ask this question because my uncle asked me the same question the other night. We were discussing the same issues as are in this thread. He argued that according to the numbers there is no other possible result but full melt down and collapse by early 2013 beginning in autumn 2012. I however am not as cynical, for me I believe things will be getting worse but a full collapse? That I doubt. Maybe it is the optimistic American in me who can read a thousand reputable articles and still say ‘there is a chance this will not happen’. But perhaps we have exaggerated the problem beyond where it actually is, perhaps the system is not as completely lost as we suspect it to be.

Either way I predict a very interesting next year and pray, at the same time, for America to finally wake up to the two-party duopoly, that the ‘Democrats’ and ‘Republicans’ are just two wings of the same bird of prey, that we realize “Washington is Israeli occupied territory” – Pat Buchanan. Regardless I lean towards renovating the house not burning it down to build on its ashes.

I think there should be a reform minded opposition party. Also the OWS need to narrow their agendas and concentrate on those demands. They may be the beginings of this new reform party, hopefully.

I am hoping financially,we can get out of this October.

October 19, 1987 – Dow Jones drops 22.61%

October 28-29, 1929 – Index drops 12.82% and 11.72%, respectively

October 26, 1987 – 8% drop

October 15, 2008 – 8% drop

October 18, 1937 – 7.75% drop

Link

That being said,I also hope OWS puts together a real list of what they want,or wake to the truth its the bankers who are playing by the Laws we have . Something the TPM could say, "hey, those are good points",or those are worthy of "protesting for".

It's always fun to see people support "The Body". He has been a product of our "celebrity" culture and he shares the same sentiments of people like C.W. Mills, who warned us against that very same culture 50 years ago. It's almost poetic justice that people like him are coming around and defending people like us. This is one thing that I'm glad Mills got a bit wrong.

Trust it is not because “hey I saw him on TV”; I have respected Jesse long before that. He has been outspoken in his opinions even while governor of Minnesota, looking back on his tenure it seems rather positive. I never watched wrestling so that is definitely not where I came to know him from. The celebrity figures treated like heroes, well, that is disgusting to me. But within that same breath it is necessary to say that I do not take Jesse as a ‘celebrity’ but more as an activist.

It's already in place; we just ain't been told...yet.

ex-2

Below are two articles covering the fact that, since the Act of 1871 which established the District of Columbia, we have been living under the UNITED STATES CORPORATION which is owned by certain international bankers and aristocracy of Europe and Britain.

In 1871 the Congress changed the name of the original Constitution by changing ONE WORD -- and that was very significant as you will read.

Some people do not understand that ONE WORD or TWO WORDS difference in any "legal" document DO make the critical difference. But, Congress has known, and does know, this.

I'm told this corporation, established in 1871, will be cancelled by NESARA and NESARA will also restore the ORIGINAL Constitution which assists in restoring our Constitutional Rights and the Bill of Rights and our rights as described in the Declaration of Independence.

The united states Of America is a corporation owned by foreign interests September 21, 2008 “Below are two articles covering the fact that, since the Act of 1871 which established the District of Columbia, we have been living under the UNITED STATES CORPORATION which is owned by certain international bankers and aristocracy of Europe and Britain.”

NESARA

“To hide NESARA from public view and, thus, to prevent its enforcement by popular demand, the United States Supreme Court placed a gag order on all public officials, the United States military, law enforcement personnel, bankers, attorneys, judges, the media and anyone else, who knew about NESARA and, who might give information about NESARA to the public. If the people learned the Truth about NESARA, they would demand its enforcement.”

Waiting for it all to collapse instead of possessing any moral obligation to actually up-hold the law?

I totally wasn't accusing you of that. I was actually just comparing the fact that he is a living irony when certain old-school political commentators are brought into the picture.

I'm way more guilty of that than you are. I did watch him as a wrestler, then as an actor, then as a governor, then as a producer, and now... finally as an activist. I'm pointing this out as a good thing, not a bad.

Look up C.W. Mills or maybe even Robert Dahl. They discuss this specifically and the fact they are not 100% right in this aspect will make you chuckle. Celebrity has backfired on the elite. Not enough but... in pockets. And that's cool enough.
