I suggest the rescue road, so many lovaing dogs need homes. Don't dismiss the smaller ones they are not all yappy, its how they have been trained !!! I have had labradors, greyhound, border terriers and yorkshire terriers all of them were not excessively barking dogs and all very loving. I would recommend all of these breeds.

I have never heard this before -
my Basset is smart, not just saying
that - he really is.

Of the three you mention, I would choose the Husky.
They are hard working, hard playing, and loyal. If you are looking to have children, they are great kid dogs,
They are playful and love to cuddle on a cold winter's night. They are just all around good dogs.

hmm.. one in this thread told me that huskys was the most agressive of the 3

I guess it all comes down to the owner

I have an Olde English Bulldogge. His name is Herky Lee Wigglebottoms. He is 16 months old. Herky is a handful. Bulldogs are great animals who are laid back, but, in no way a couch potato. I was hoping for a couch potato but he is very much a puppy still and FULL of energy. He does have skin allergies and sensitive stomach. The good thing about Olde English Bulldogges is they don't have such a smashed up face, their noses tend to be a little more stuck out and they don't have as many wrinkles. I live in Texas and we struggled to keep him cool so there is that. They are loyal animals who are very protective of their families. He's a bit pushy but other than that very mindful and well behaved. Attached are some links for research! Good luck!

Get your self a Labrador (Black), i have had them all my life and they
are brilliant. Loyal, loving, clowns, and good with dogs and cats.

My boy is call. B. Rambles (Bramble) .and he is ten years old.

I can't get any pictures to upload right now.
I'll link something out to the web and post a link.

Got a couple working now.

This one is when Bramble was 5 and the wife insisted i chop her out of the picture.
and the second one is from last year. 2010 Bramble aged 9

Thanks! He's a really health bulldogge, weighing in at 65.5 lbs and getting a ton of exercise. We live on the third floor of an apartment building so he gets a ton of stairs. The only 'illness' that they can get is skin diseases, Gaston-intestinal disease, heart conditions and hip/joint problems because of their sturdy structure. All this can be prevented with great diet, vitamins and exercise, which he gets all. Basically, as with any dog, DON'T FEED PEOPLE FOOD! This is the biggest no-no in our house!
