The Dalai Lama did not make the birthday and a day after had to speak with Tutu via video link. The absence of the Tibetan spiritual leader was marked by an empty seat where he would of been sitting and also with this, he was to deliver an inaugual peace speech.

When asked why the Chinese feared him, He said that the chinese described him as a demon, and naturally people are scared of demons. He further stated that "hypocrisy and telling lies had unfortunately become part of life in "the communist totalitarian system" and people who spoke truthfully and honestly sparked discomfort."

The Tibetan Leader has lived in India since 1959 after fleeing an uprise against chinese rule, and has also urged the Chinese to raise its jurical system to international standards. The Chinese have always tried to curb the Dalai Lamas overseas travels, also threatening host governments that any visit would harm ties.

The South African foreign ministry has stated that the visa process was disrupted by timing and also completeness of the application, but officials from boths offices have denied that the application was late or complete. With this Tutu has accused the South African government of failing to side with the tibetan people who have and are being oppressed by the Chinese rule.

The Dalai Lama received a nobel peace prize in 1989 for is efforts in trying to "preserve the historical and cultural heritage of his people.''

The Dalai Lama has been with the CIA for a while

Also in 1958, the CIA began a new training programme for future Tibetan guerillas. Codenamed “The Colorado program” it lasted for seven years at Camp Hale in Colorado and neighboring the Butts Field Air Force Base. No fewer than 200 Tibetans were trained during these years. At the same time, the CIA made sure the Tibetans were armed by dropping weapons and equipment for their guerillas.

the guerrillas were supported by the C.I.A
