Then why isn't prostitution a means to an end? No woman in her right mind would ever choose to be a prostitute for as long as she could work..

Bull.

Some prostitutes absolutely love what they do and prefer it to a 9-5 job.

sources?

he is there for sexual fulfillment.

largely.
but mostly cuz he needs a proper hug (even if he doesn't know it). It's a lonely world out there for most modern men, one good hug goes a long way.....

many of these women heal : so much loneliness in our modern world.

Knights, if no one would touch you with a ten foot pole, you're telling us you wouldn't pay for some touch? Please.

i read the first paragraph of your post and laughed. Ever talked to a prostitute in Amsterdam? Top end prostitutes can make 250,000 euro per year. What about porn stars? are they not just prostitutes except they get filmed.

point is, not all prostitutes are forced, druggies, or bottom feeders and neither are all men who pay for them, get of your high horse and accept that there are much worse things going on than paying for sex

Then why isn't prostitution a means to an end? No woman in her right mind would ever choose to be a prostitute for as long as she could work..

are you serious? ''No woman in er right mind''. So all porn stars and all prostititues are not in their right mind? And just so you know, prostition is work, its a job, go visit Amsterdam, they pay taxes there, its a profession, perhaps the oldest one, but its work. I admit a lot of them street hookers maybe druggies or desperate, but it is work, not like sitting on your arse and getting payed for nothing, they provide a service which men want. That is a job no matter how you paint it

sources? how about you ask some prostitutes, or men that pay for it before jumping to these completely random assumptions. Are you a devout Christain or feminest by any chance?

and another thing, calling men who pay for sex ''bottom feeders'' is a total B.S.

Google is your friend.

Or if you want an actual source, go talk to some prostitutes. Some will hate what they do, others indifferent, others will love it. Same as any other career.

Quite possibly someone who found out their significant other frequented the Ladies of the Night?

sources? Why don't you just jump on craigslist or one of these other "online dating websites"

If i was a chick and down on cash, # yeah i'd be a hoe, getting a thousand bucks to just have sex, whatever.

Using craigslist as an example of a dating site?

Speaking of dating sites, where are the legit swinger sites?

Desperate times call for desperate measures; I was told once.

Last I checked, prostitutes are so on their own free will. What you're thinking of are hoes, in some dirty areas around major cities - who have pimps that collect their money. And even so, plenty are because they wish to be.

Paying for sex != forcible rape (does not equal)
and != bottom-feeder society

Whats with the use of the word 'rape'.
Prostitutes in control of their own business, as it were, are consenting. It's not rape if you consent.

Because people who have a moral opposition have to use as strong a hyperbole as possible to get the point across that they really disapprove.

Problem is, their disapproval is THEIR problem. And they seek remedy by subduing the range of actions that you can legally take.

Truly pathetic are the people who seek legal controls over other people just so that they delicate sensibilities can be propped up.

key word there, OR. Meaning one this or another thing.

And hookers are all over craigs list, most of those bots are actually real people, you join the site, they tell you the rates.

ya this thread is pretty ridiculous. Obviously youve gone off the deep end. If someone wants to pay for sex and somoene wants to get paid let it happen. Human trafficking is different and obviously bad.

Prostitution has been around for thousands of years and doesn't appear to be ending anytime soon. Yes, I do feel sorry for the women who are the victims in prostitution, but some women just love sex and/or money. For example, isn't a woman who marries a man that she doesn't love just for wealth and possessions a prostitute? Or women who has sex with just about anyone to keep having babies for child support checks. Although these women are not on street corners, they are still providing sex for financial gain just as a prostitute would. At least prostitutes are honest about the arrangment and don't make promisses of love, faithfulness, etc. I think women have the right to be straight-forward prostitutes and if guys want to pay them for it, that is their choice.

I see that those of you who support prostitution haven't got a leg to stand on in this debate. I'd also bet my money that none of you have relatives or immediate family who are prostitutes, like a daughter for example. maybe thinking about it from a fathers perspective would influence your opinion.

Just out of curiosity ...what if you are indirectly paying....aka buying them dinner...maybe taking them to a movie...but you both have sex in mind as the end game.....is that ok?
