Prostitution is the oldest job in the world.

Very ignorant post.

Ive never paid for sex persay......when you are in a relationship you are paying for sex...gifts, meals out...when it leads to sex is that also prostitution??

Im guessing you talk to imaginary people.....like described in an old book?

Its their body, if they want to sell it who are you to tell them not to?

This had the potential to be a decent thread, but the OPs attitude towards anyone with differing opinions is frankly frightening

I dont hear many opinions just a lot of angry people who apparantly have paid or do pay for prostitutes. Its also clear to me that most of those people arent clear of my opinion because i agree with most of what they have to say as far as legalizing it.

It is possible to live in a society where prostitiution is not applicable.

most marriages are legal prostitution because most people wouldn't get married to the same person if the $$$ wasn't right. when the money is right, anything is possible...

hookers and sex slaves are not the same thing -1 is consensual and the other isnt. I hate when people try to lump sex trafficking in with business. prostitution is business trading paper money for real value. I don't remember the 130 dollars I spent for dinner but I remember very well the sex I had with a women that used to strip and probably was an escort.

prostitution is the oldest business in the world because of two reasons - all men pay for sex, the currency may change but all men pay for sex - so do all women though.

second reason and most important is freedom - the freedom to be a white, black,Asian,Latino man and be with the most attractive black or Asian or Latino women you can afford.

I know a german girl that get's all sexed up in latex for her dates - that's worth 300 bucks to me.

Actually this reminds me of a republican saying.

If a republican doesnt like guns he wont buy them if a liberal doesnt like guns he will attempt to ban all of them.

Try telling that to the legal prostitution industry aka PORNOGRAPHY.

$ is KING in the U.S.

Prostitution is only illegal if the Government doesnt get any money. Get a license and tax i.d. # and you can pay prostitutes all day to have sex aka Pornography.

The idea is to legitimize prostitution, to protect the rights of women who would otherwise be subjected to the conditions you outlined in your OP.

So, good argument for prostitution. Thanks, OP!

Bottom Feeders

Some nerve of you...what high throne are you a part of that you can call the rest of us such names?

Who told you it was okay to speak down to other people because their opinions differs from yours?

Nobody, in the other thread ever suggested or okay'd any form of "Forced Prostitution"

Nobody referred to the "ILLEGAL SEX TRADE/SLAVES" by okaying such sickening activities

You sound like damaged goods (see, it isn't fair for me to assume that about you is it?)

In the end, like all of us, you are entitled to your opinion...but name calling has nothing to do with opinion. All it does is shows how obtuse and condescending you are capable of being

I can understand your passion about such an issue. However, to call other members Bottom Feeders is wrong and offensive. Maybe you should go back and re-read the other thread again after you climb off your high horse and learn how to communicate your worries and/or social issues with the rest of us Bottom Feeders

Peace To You

No, but you think there is nothing wrong with those women? I mean you would say that a healthy, active, accomplished individual would at any point in their life need to pursue prostitution for no good reason? I guarantee all of them had some traumatic event during childhood, or some experienced some abnormal stresses throughout adolescence, or in general would tell you that they are only in it for the benjamins.

That's an incredibly ignorant stereotype full of assumptions. I've personally been friends with one woman while in college, and I have to admit that she was one of the most well adjusted people I've ever met. She was a Corporal in the Army as well as a stripper and she worked as a highly paid 'call girl'. You do realize that some women enjoy sex right? You do realize she could turn down anyone she wished, and was forced to do nothing she didn't want to do, right? She simply enjoyed having sex with handsome businessmen, and getting paid tons of money to do it.....Heck if I could get gorgeous women to pay me for sex, then I'd be one too! But that's the thing....I'm a man.....Do you honestly think that only men think this way? Newsflash.....women enjoy sex and money too!

I think you've been watching too much cop shows on TV where they bust up human slavery rings.....things like that do indeed happen, and no one here is arguing that situations like that are right...... but to characterize all prostitutes as damaged, or forced by their situation is not only wrong, it's kind of insulting to the women who do this out of their own free will, and enjoy it.

I hate phycologists. They'll find a mental issue or disorder in just about anybody. I had a very good friend, who started stripping. She was HOT... and boys like her a lot. She had a very good relationship with her dad (her mom not so much, but they got along alright, like normal). She started because she needed the extra cash. She wasn't into heavy drugs, but was an intelligent open-minded girl so she wasn't against drugs necessarily. Further, the girls that she met there that she introduced me to, were similarly well thought out people. They weren't all doing it for the same "honourable" reasons as she was, but still... from my experience girls in the sex industry have no more phycological problems then anyone else, including you.

Sure, if it was just some chick turning tricks on the corner because she dropped out of high school, or maybe she's putting herself through collage? who knows... but that's that core problem, who knows? who knows whether that girl you're giving $50 for a BJ is just trying to get by... but on the other hand, maybe she's one of the thousands of girls in the UNITED STATES that taken advantage of by drug dealers and pimps who keep them subservient and docile with heroine to make sure they keep coming back and bringing that money in. People think this stuff only happens in eastern european countries, but it happens quite a bit here also.

No, i could never support that system.

sex trafficking is a male endeavor that became very lucrative as the US spread its horny warriors all over the globe.
and it is a terrible terrible thing.

this is not prostitution: it is slavery.

try and see the difference.

Though I've never paid for sex I know some who HAVE to due to physical attributes that make normal relationships impossible. Shall we tell those folks "no" because you are in some moral panic over it?

I've also known a fair number of prostitutes on a personal basis. I've known some of them to absolutely love what they do, and a few others that really didn't. Shall we tell the women who love it "no" because you are in some moral panic over it?

The real bottom-feeders are the ones who think they know best for others.

i read the first paragraph of your post and laughed. Ever talked to a prostitute in Amsterdam? Top end prostitutes can make 250,000 euro per year. What about porn stars? are they not just prostitutes except they get filmed.

point is, not all prostitutes are forced, druggies, or bottom feeders and neither are all men who pay for them, get of your high horse and accept that there are much worse things going on than paying for sex

WHAT? lots of people experince traumatic event in childhood, not all turn to prostitution, and to say all prostitutes did experince this, answer me this, have you asked all of them? seriously, your views are so one sided, perhaps if you did a little work and asked some, including porn stars, you'd find they had healthy childhoods.

Then why isn't prostitution a means to an end? No woman in her right mind would ever choose to be a prostitute for as long as she could work..

Bull.

Some prostitutes absolutely love what they do and prefer it to a 9-5 job.
