....and the OWS people remain either:

1. Idiots. Wall street operates under the laws given. If ya dont like it, TALK TO WASHINGTON!!!!

2. Socialists/Anarchists: Nuff said with that.

Neither you nor they have intelligently explained what the goals are or how to implement them.

Personally, I think its a test run for something much bigger and the idiot kids are "useful idiots" (per Stalin).

Idiots, anarchists, or socialists? How about you get off your high horse, and actually go down there and talk to some of the protesters and spend a few hours there to see what they are upset about? Nah, it's much easier to just watch biased mainstream media coverage of the protests and condescend people who are motivated enough to go out and protest.

Here are some of the official demands of the OWS movement.

coupmedia.org...

Well, you should make a thread showcasing this list because it certainly does illustrate some of the underlying causes of our current problems. The problem, though, is that many of the solutions provided will simply not work.

Legislation aimed at the banks, the corporations, and the rich WILL be gotten around. It always has. Despite the beliefs of Democrats and left wing activists to the contrary, the federal government is there to benefit the rich. The larger the government, the more power will be concentrated in the hands of the few.
The sooner the people wean themselves off the government and its corporate owners, the sooner can real freedom actually begin. There is no freedom in mobs or in protests that accomplish nothing more than soundbytes for partisan politicians and pundits (like the OP video).

By the way, PJ O'Rourke is far smarter and a much greater ally of freedom than the guy pandering in the video. Read one of his books one day.

There are plenty that "get it". Many "get it" a lot better than the OWS protesters themselves do. Because they are educated in history and how the system works. They also have experience in the real world in the private sector and/or government service. It is obvious to them that, despite good intentions, OWS is not anything close to a historic event. It's a feminized, "lefty" version of the Tea Party movement that is being directed by agenda driven manipulators.

That's funny, because last time I checked, it was mostly little girls that dressed up in fancy costumes and had tea parties....

But seriously though, "feminised"?
What would make it "masculine"?
Cowboy hats?
Country music?
More flag waving, superficial patriotism and failed attempts to mythologise politically idealised versions of history?

Exactly. You encapsulated my confusion accurately. Do they need to eat more freedom fries? Are they not fat enough? Do they not wear the right jeans? Is it feminist to not be selfish? Is it feminist to want justice? If so, then slap a dress on me and call me Sally.

DC will not change the laws, as long as their money comes from wallstreet. This social movement is to bring awareness to just that. By being on wallstreet they are doing just that. People have lost faith in our government, that causes people to look else where for a source to solve this problem.

I agree we need both. But it's the whole "DC, who needs to change the laws for Wall Street which are made by politicians who are bought by Wall Street who needs to be fixed by DC, who needs to change the laws for Wall Street which are made by politicians who are bought by Wall Street who needs to be fixed by DC, who needs to change the laws for Wall Street which are made by politicians who are bought by Wall Street who needs to be fixed by ..." situation again.

Exactly!!!!

2nd line

Precisely!!!!

Being from the Healthcare Industry I have seen first hand how we are a nation of people who treat the "symptom" and not the underlying problem. I agree with EVERY LAST PERSON who has said we need to march on wall street AND I agree with EVERY LAST PERSON who has said we need to march on Washington. AWESOME lets do both shall we??? How about we all end this moot discussion and actually do what we are saying?? We're fighting over two heads on the same hydra people. We can do all of the things suggested here.
