Russia rejects US presence in Afghanistan after UN mandate expires

Dmitry Rogozin said Friday.

Russia will not agree to US military presence in Afghanistan after the expiry of a UN Security Council mandate, Russian envoy to NATO.

Rogozin told Russian reporters that the United States is pursuing the same tactic in both Afghanistan and Libya by offering training for armed forces of those countries in NATO standards.

Moscow will insist the US military scales down its presence in Central Asia after its counter-terrorism operation in Afghanistan.
Deputy Foreign Minister Alexei Borodavkin said.

"The point is that when the counter-terrorism operation in Afghanistan is over, when American armed forces leave this country, and the need to send supplies to them becomes irrelevant, we will insist that the American military presence in Afghanistan and Central Asia must be scaled down,

Russia are not happy, over being mis-led with Libya, and most of all western interference in Syria, and the west's relationship with Russia, has now turned very sour, but unfortunatelly, it all too late, as in geopolitical terms, the west's pulled a masterstorke on them in the med.

But now china, is becoming vocal aswell, as it dawns on them, there oil hungry economy needs Africa and its massive resources(Rumored to be more oil in chad then Saudi Arabia), its all becoming very edgy and dangerous.

Russia? Oh you mean that third-world former communist country that was so powerful, they paraded wooden missiles every 10 minutes? So powerful they can't even defeat the fighters on their own soil? I suggest they quieten down a little.

Sounds like you took the commie propaganda alittle too seriously. Watch the russian version of what was happening over there.

Don't think the media is unbiased when it comes to talking about other countries.

Tbh, It would do the 'world' a favour, if China and Russia took charge and said, "You know what America, we've stood by long enough.' Then knocked them off their high horse.. think the rest of the world is now bored of America and there school yard tactics of 'taking over the feking world!'

nazi Germany were the most powerful country only 70 years ago, even they succumb to the rest of the world. what makes you think your country are all 1st class citizens? The Russians will give you a decent fight pal.

I'm sure they will, but with Georgia a nuclear armed nation and the rebels in the Caucuses properly trained, I think the actual fight would require very little input from the west.

Of course they want America out. We helped kicked their butts out of there in '88. When America leaves, Russia expects to (re)fill that void.
