I know, obvious Radiohead homer is obvious

Luckily these are the full albums here so please if you have the time and are up for it give one of them a listen!

Aside from maybe OK Computer this is not your conventional rock, so I feel a bit cheesy posting them as rock albums.

yes it is and considering that it was produced and recorded 38 years ago.it still and always will sound timeless.my 2 favorite songs from it are "breathe" and "time"...the song, time, has what i think are the greatest, most profound lyrics ever written. engineer alan parsons was directly responsible for some of the most notable sonic aspects of the album...

and it's also the 3rd best selling album ever made with 45 million copies sold so far...

heres the top selling albums ever...

Michael Jackson Thriller 1982 Pop / Rock / R&B 110 million
AC/DC Back in Black 1980 Hard rock / Heavy metal 49 million
Pink Floyd The Dark Side of the Moon 1973 Progressive rock 45 million
Whitney Houston / Various artists The Bodyguard 1992 Soundtrack 44 million
Meat Loaf Bat Out of Hell 1977 Rock 43 million
Eagles Their Greatest Hits (1971–1975) 1976 Rock 42 million
Various artists Dirty Dancing 1987 Soundtrack 42 million
Backstreet Boys Millennium 1999 Pop 40 million
Bee Gees / Various artists Saturday Night Fever 1977 Soundtrack 40 million
Fleetwood Mac Rumours 1977 Rock 40 million
Shania Twain Come On Over 1997 Country / Pop 40 million

i don't consider a greates hits album, like the eagles above in 6th place to be fair.because it's a compilation of all big hits so of course it's going to sell a lot...

but pink floyd 3rd place so far and acdc 2nd place so far are studio albums with all original songs...

look at "thriller" sales figure...so far!... 110,000,000 wow!

It's insane how much of a hit the industry took in substance, isn't it? If it wasn't for downloading music and what it did to the establishment, could you imagine who else would be up there amongst top selling albums?

1. "The Colour and the Shape" by the Foo Fighters. Probably the most perfect singular album I've ever heard.
2. Any Eagles album.
3. Some Billy Ocean album.

Peace

I tried to keep my top 10 list as close to traditional rock/metal as possible.

The Cult - sonic temple
Def Leppard - hysteria
Delain - april rain
Dream Theater - images and words
Judas Priest - painkiller
Lunatica - the edge of infinity
Ozric Tentacles - waterfall cities
Rush - roll the bones
Superchick - rock what ya got
Within Temptation - the unforgiving

But, were I to have a little leniency to expand tho other genres, I would like to add these 10:

The Birthday Massacre - walking with strangers
Cocteau Twins - milk & kisses
The Cure - disintegration
Liz Story - 17 seconds to anywhere
Of Sinking Ships - selt-titled
Owl City - all things bright and beautiful
Peter Murphy - holy smoke
Sky Sailing - an airplane carried me to bed
Steve Roach - empetus
The Sundays - blind
