If the girls have to get weekly tests then what does that say? and you want it legalized? get a clue!

History teaches that prohibition does not work, it only makes the matter worse and fuels criminality. Instead, regulation and providing alternatives (welfare, free education) is the way to go.

I wouldn't use a prostitute myself but I find it bizarre that the 'oldest profession' isn't legal - expecially when far more dangerous and socially damaging things like driving cars or drinking beer is.

Legalisation would make would make it much, much safer (for all involved) and help reduce or end sex slavery. AndI cannot see who it could possibly harm anyone.

If a woman chooses to sell her body for sex then fine it should be legal.

Abuse including paying (the pimps of) children, slaves, or victims of abuse for sex is and should be illegal. All victims should receive the treatment and support they deserve to put the past behind them and lead a better life. No-one should be forced by experience, circumstances or status into such a harmful trade.

Some women do enjoy being 'escorts', they are psychologically equipt for the business, let them carry on. It's when they have no real choice whether because they don't have the tools to avoid or get out, or they are literally forced by pimps that it is absolutely indefensible.

I find it kind of appalling at the acceptance some here seem to have of these girls with deep rooted psychological issues selling themselves. It is their body and shouldn’t be illegal but it does not mean it should be deemed ok. I do not see how making prostitution a legitimate business helps these girls, the same things will go on and if anything it will make more girls to fall into the same line of selling. I personally think anyone who has ever paid for these services should be ashamed and reflect on how those girls got there. That post someone wrote about brothels paying for public road repairs etc is something so disgusting to put into words.

Selling your priceless body for money is a disgrace.
Paying money to use another’s body is also a disgrace.

Though I understand your point(s) and your opinion I find your ignorance appalling.

All prostitutes are women? What about MALE prostitutes? They do exits. Why just shake your fist at women?

And not all prostitutes are seeds and needy.

Many are young (and not so young) women putting themselves through college, supplementing their income etc. They are not ‘scarred by their childhood’ or sufferers of some type or nymphomania.

Tell me their is a difference between a woman who offers her body up as a surrogate mother and a woman who offers her body up to a man for pay and I'll say you're wrong.

I mean no insult, I only to bring you another opinion to think on.

Beyond that? Risking the assumption you’re a Christian? Let me ask you something.

Are you overweight.

My point?

Go visit a local church and tell me how many of the people sitting in the isles are overweight. Obesity is a deadly sin. The giving into the passion for food and the falling under the control of food, also living in sloth. But these same people don’t even give a second thought to abusing their body, the ‘temple of their Lord’.

Makes you think doesn’t it? Or it should.

Please do not confuse yourself, I’m not attacking you or your faith. I’m a Christian also, but one who will never attempt to subject others to my will or to remove their own, free will being the greatest gift ever given to humanity by its Creator.

peace

As long as it is well regulated and safe then it is none of my business, i personally think it is disgusting, but two consenting adults can do what they like as long as it doesn't harm anyone.

What two adults agree to do together is totally up to them, as long as it doesn't hurt a 3rd party then what is the problem.
Should be 100% legal!

Who the hell would do that for a living ??

Some girls in the porn industry love that stuff (the ones that do it). Some love getting treated like a slave, aggressive sex, whipped, treated like #. They get off on that just like the guy!!!!!

That is why they need to be run from "houses",much like the bunny ranch in Nevada. They can be inspected on the fly, the girls monitored, and the bunny keeps the money and pays the house a percentage. They can pick who they want and whenthey want.

You are really naive. Yes, there is a serious issue with drug addicted and under age prostitutes being forced to service men for sex. However, where prostitution is legal, this is very rarely the case. Men and women engaged in this sort of prostitution, such as in Nevada, are far from deviant or in need of 'rehabilitation'.

What we need is a rehabilitation to our arcane views of sex. You want to decrease pedophilia, rape, incest, and other disturbing forms of deviance then quit applying arcane moral judgements based on religion and pseudo-feminism.

If sex was easier to discuss in this country then molestation victims (I prefer the term child rape since that's what it is) would not feel so ashamed and would come forward to make sure the perpetrator was punished! However, many of the little girls and boys have been brought up thinking sex is 'naughty' and are in fear of getting in trouble!

Prostitution is no different. Want to make child prostitution disappear? Legalize (adult prostitution) it, tax it, regulate it, and prosecute people who pimp children so harshly that it makes the Saudis seem liberal!

Jesus H Christ on a pop tart, I swear, the evangelical idea is to make it a sin and castigate, and the liberal idea is always 'rehabilitate'. If you want to know why the country and world is in a mess, it's because neither of the viewpoints is worth a tinker's damn in my opinion. There's no happy medium with these people, it's either fire and brimstone or touchy, feely psycho-babble. (Sorry that the last paragraph is a little off topic, but it's tangential to the debate!)

Prostitution is legal here. Incidentally, I live in the most livable city in the world which has relatively low crime rate.

Legalize it.

I think if it becomes legalized, it should be regulated. I grew up in the Nevada deserts and have seen many brothels and new alot if girls who soon after high school went to the strip clubs and the brothels. Those girls new what they were doing and enjoyed the money they made. I will say 95% of them where on drugs but there was this one lady i knew who was drug free. She was a single mom and neede to support her kids. I think Nevada has done a great job regulating prostitution and makes sure the women are checked regularly for STD's.

With that said on the flip side, I know many women who got out of the prostitution industry and had to go thru many years of thereapy. It definately left a scar into themselves that wont heal for a long time. My sisters have all gone this route at one time in there life. I think it was more an act of rebellion against our parents. to this date, they are not the same. They have let there body go to the dump and no longer take care of themselves.

As for me, I have never been with a prostitute ( I have visited brothels after being invited) and have always had this impression that they are a sister and I should give them more respect for who they are.

Everyday people sell their priceless body's for money.

Some do it as bankers,

Some do it as politicians.

Some do it as Lawyers.

So with your logic, I would guess everyone that works is disgraceful.

Prostitution IS legal. Its called PORNOGRAPHY.

See, so long as you have a license and a tax I.D. #, you can pay women all day to have sex.

Its only illegal when the government doesn't get any money.

Understand?
