What would the economy be like if Obama got all of the things he wanted passed?

Lets just start with a few things off the top of my head. Feel free to add as you wish.

1. The cost of energy would have already skyrocketed. You would be paying more for gas, more for electricity, more to heat your house, etc.. Wouldnt you love to be paying even more for these things right now to add to your added food costs?

2. We would have single payer healthcare... and to fund it higher taxes. Higher to the point to cover the 1/6th of GDP that healthcare encompasses. Thats another 2.5 trillion in taxes. So that would be more than doubling the current tax rate for everyone.

3. Everyone making over 250k a year would be paying higher taxes, if you are a couple making over 300k you would be paying higher taxes.

4. We would be taxed for Cap and Trade, and some portion of that money would be handed to the UN to redistribute at will.

Whether you like Republicans or the Tea Party or not, you have to admit they have saved you an awful lot of money.

What do you think the unemployment rate would be right now had he enacted these things?

If Obama got everything he wanted the system would have already imploded and sucked itself into a black hole.
We would already be gone or nearly. It would only speed things up. The Choice with president Sludge onboard is a slow death or a quick one. If America is even able to be healed of this downward spiral it is a process that will not occur under this mans leadership. Or lack of leadership. either way. We are in real trouble.

1. Unemployment would've fallen from 9.2% to about 3.0% as about 20 Million jobs would've been added!
2. The Federal Reserve would've been nationalized by now saving us $14.5 Trillion a year currently! Government loans money to itself for no profit. This could effectively knock back the overall debt from about $55 Trillion to about $30 Trillion and could be knocked down by in less then a decade!
3. American manufactuering base would've been restored adding about 15 Million jobs
4. The high speed rail project would've been underway by now securing our economic independence by creating permanent jobs while nationalizing the entire system to prevent fraud and abuse adding about $1 Trillion back into Government!
5. Taxes on the top 1% would've gotten hiked to about 40% across the board adding about $750 Billion back to the economy.
6. Oil companies would've gotten their subsidies erased as well as companies to receive subsidies to sent jobs overseas would've gotten cut adding nearly $1 Trillion back to the economy.
7. Homeowner's would've been able to refi their underwater mortgage. Preventing $2 Trillion from being lost that continues to be lost year after year.
8. The establishment of the National Health Insurance Exchange would've launched saving at least $100 Billion a year!
9. The restoration of The American Dream creating about $2 Trillion to the economy.

They keep the economy just well enough for some of the nation and it's people to stay afloat while a majority will be left in the cold but never enough people to bring down the whole, just enough. They are playing with fire and ice.

No matter what happens on the surface, the base will remain the same, folks.
Obama can pretend all he likes, but the decisions aren't being made by him, or even by the White house or govt.

Corporations are running the show because money talks. The rich, are people like you and me, the difference is, they conspire to get richer and anyone not in their collective or caste, must stay in THEIR collective/cast.
Thats how our society works.

The American dream is a sham, ment to keep the people in the cold from playing with fire themselves.

I hate to tell you but Obama and his global-warming-is-all-man-made-and-all-America's-fault friends would seriously hate it if the American economy was working properly and therefore emitting more CO2.

What we have now with the economy is the progression made for a post industrial society.

If Obama got everything he wanted? Are you kidding me? He and the democrats had complete control over this economy for two or three whole years. We are now starting to see the results. Constant demands for higher taxes. Class warfare. Higher health care costs and premiums with promises of increased taxes in 2014. Unemployment is going up or not decreasing, runaway deficit spending. A government that doesn't know when to stop adding regulations and taxes. Forced layoffs of teachers and government employees as tax revenue drops due to a declining economy. So vote for Obama if you want it even worse.

All because of Wall Street because the little guy continues to win while the big guy continues to win.

When Wall St gets whatever it wants our economy is fruitful and plenty and when it don't everyone suffers like we are all suffering now.

Regarding class warfare, the rich fired the first shot and drew first blood long ago.

The economy would stay pretty much the same no matter who passed what. The economy is not tremendously affected by politics. It's like a huge whale that only responds to larger movements in the social and economic environment.

Unless somebody is going figure a way to reduce the population of the planet to about half before it gets so large it starts correcting itself with mass starvation and pandemics, the economy will be what it is -- either in a legitimate market or a black market.

People gotta eat and drink and crap. People feel the need to reproduce and protect their young. How would any of Obama's laws change that?

What I'm saying is that the wants and needs of billions of people essentially drive the economy. As long as people continue to live in their current numbers or larger, it doesn't matter who passes what laws in what single country. The overall wants and needs of humanity as a whole will trump any attempt at meaningful legislation.

If something should happen to radically change the number of people in the world -- natural or artificial -- that would change the economy. That's a fact without any pro or con value judgments placed on it.

how exactly?

you did absolutely nothing but repeat promises. not a single solution listed, or means to such a solution. just empty promises.

so how are those things going to happen? when somebody ask you what 2+2=, you dont answer by saying it equals 2+2. well, unless youre a liberal. than you say its racially biased and greedy and you try to take one of the 2s away to give to the poor -3 because it doesnt have its fair share. but thats a different story.

so, how exactly would obamas policies catch your 9 unicorns above?
