It's one big arsed distraction tool meant to keep people divided upon lines of faith all to prevent people from uniting and coming together against TPTB and the banks!

Sometimes I wonder if all you do is hobble leftist arguments together and hope something sticks.

I'm not anti-religion. But I am anti-using-religion-to-control.

Yep...it's religion that prevents us from going after bad bankers.....

Nevermind Jesus went after the money changers personally.

WE are the ones that let them keep changing the laws to stack the deck... We are ALL to blame, not just the rich

And now that some want to do something about it to unstack the deck people are against it.

Unstacking the deck is redistribution but the tax breaks for those making over 250K are not?

Taxing everybody and handing that money over to corporations isn't redistribution?

It sure is. And it is a practice that needs to stop.

both left and right benefit from class warfare. And what people don't realize is that one of the roots of the class warfare in this country is the tax structure.

If our tax system were GREATLY simplified and flattened we wouldn't be having this discussion. Because EVERYONE would have skin in the game and simplification would mean no loopholes.

The US was based on equality of opportunity. That does not equate equality of ability. So if you start your own company and it fails, that is that. But the administrations both past and present didn't allow that to happen. Granted the auto industry failing would have had further reprecussions then the banks failing. But when we look at all the wall street wiz's Obama appointed how could anyone not see that they would get laws passed that would benefit their livelyhood? Problem is you see that people miss how that happens on a local level. Ever notice that most politicians are lawyers? Who better to write loop holes then people who know how to twist a interpretation then experts in "legalese"? Watching how in NY both parties refuse to reveal their outside incomes to the public because the conflicts of interest would really get people out in the streets with pitchforks!

You sure put your finger on it that time! The OWS demands and many attitudes in this thread are FAR more like the French Revolution than the American Revolution

If there must be revolution at all... I already know which one I'd prefer!

I am not rich but I can assure you there are punks in this town that would deem me so! Americans should not have to defend themselves from violence from other Americans, but if that is what it comes to TPTB WIN and we ALL lose....

That would be some REALLY equality though...EVERYONE dirt poor and starving....

Yeah but I'v been hearing about a flat tax since the early eighties. No doubt it was around long before I heard about it and it never gets done.

That is why I dismiss the venues available to effect change that you pointed out earlier in the thread. It never really comes about. Doesn't mean OWS will work but who am I to tell then not to try.

To me as a European it looks rather funny. As soon as some Americans are awake and live democracy, many over there seem to be frightened and see the end coming.

Get over it.

Its all in people who think they have something to lose.. Some people who think they might have power or money some day so they stand up for the very people who push them down.

Yes, they would lynch anyone with even a modest amount more than they have. That is coveting their neighbor's possessions...incidentally.
The amount is really arbitary and relative. That is the funny thing about all these proposals and demands. They want a trillion for this and a trillion for that, they want anyone over 250,000 to get taxed higher, they want arbitary amounts of what people can make. It's all so ridiculous.

I guarantee you, there's at least a few hundred thousand in this country that are better at it than you. I see modesty is not a quality you posses in any quantity. Hmm, interesting isn't it?

so would those few hundred thousand be the ones who are employed or ones who wish to be?
and, what does "modesty" have to do with any of this???
Cinaed has put in her time, efforts, blood, sweat and tears to be where she is today, why diss her? thought you had a problem with the 1% ???
running out of arguments are ya?

Heres something to think about.. All t hose peace and love hippys from the 60s the same people who sold America out in the 70s and 80s to corporations. They are also the same people who are tea party supporters today!

So what do we learn? As you get older you sell out.

It's not surprising that people demanding someone else give them their wealth are themselves atheist.although there are a few Christian socialists. Mostly that is a misinterpretation of scripture though.

Totally AGREE!! I support the Fair Tax....

End INCOME Tax...give people ALL of the money they earn. Tax products and services. The amount of consumption determines the % paid in!

Abolish the IRS!

Abolish the Dept of Education!

Eliminate loops holes when they are discovered...

FINE/jail public officials that allow fraud and corruption on their watch...stop using fall guys...If Holder is at the top its HIS responsibility to KNOW what's going on...if he doesn't, or he looks the other way.... jail his sorry butt and take HIS money! He is a servant/representative of The People and it's theft/corruption...

Put an income cap on Congress, slash their retirement drastically..let them make know law for the people that exempts them and vice versa.. They are already rich...right? Why should they make MORE than our soldiers? Let the tax payers pay them what they pay our fighting forces

See if I could be the general manager, things would smooth out real fast LOL

And....maybe most importantly....mandatory 1 yr prison sentence for anyone winning a second term of any office! (j/k)

Beezer insinuated that the upper 1% of the wealthy in this country, are that way because they work very hard.

Beezer would be correct for the most part.
which part are you disagreeing with exactly?
which ones of the 69,000,000+ are the real criminals ???
if you don't know for sure, then WHO do you hold accountable???

You are confusing an entire generation of people with a group of Patriots who espouse small govt. I think you are entirely wrong about the hippies of the 60's. They were the ones who espoused communism, communes, free love, drugs, rock n roll. Today, they are the Weathermen Underground types who have infiltrated govt and are running a Spread The Wealth scam.

Those who are espousing communism still today are yesterdays hippies. They are and always were a generation of leftists. Some were just caught in the net of a generation. But the communist infiltrators spoiled a generation of youth, and they are doing it again today.

It's not surprising that someone talking about God, would be making continuous assumptions and accusations, after being asked to stop.
I didn't ask for anything to be given to me.
