Hmmmm...

Seems here in the US we are in a "Double Dip Recession"
(Heard some fancy talking person on my TV use that phrase... Double Dipping is Bad! Isnt it a Party Foul?)

I've watched the market numbers go up... Seen em go down...

Got people protesting everywhere...

Officials are declaring its just a matter of time...

World facing worst financial crisis in history, Bank of England Governor says

I hear everyday that global meltdown, market failure... CRASH CRASH is only 2-3 weeks away...
(It makes for a good chuckle)

But.....

I don't really care to be honest... If it all came crashing down tomorrow...

I would get by, my family would get by...

I've taken the steps to ensure there is a year's supply of food in stock.
I've taken the steps to ensure we have enough seed to grow 1000's times more food than we need...
I've done my research, I've acquired the skills to survive without an "outside world"

So what you gonna do about it?
(besides protest...)

Seems now a days there is 5000 things that will "end" our "world"

What if it all came down tomorrow... How screwed would you be?

Do you have a means to survive?

If not... why?

Cos I see good enough reason to "prepare"
might not happen... but you willing to gamble like that?

You just gonna stand there?

Learn a skill while you still can...

Everyone should be thinking along those lines. There is no guarantee of tomorrow.
I've been stockpiling since 2004! The markets have been getting worse every year!

Not a worry at all.

I haven't done anything to prepare.
I can't do anything to prepare because I'm broke.
I have faced death so many times that I know that if my number is up, it won't matter how deep I'm dug in, or how quickly I'm moving.
Nobody gets out of here alive.
I think the only thing I will do when "The End" comes is duck.
Then the wave of panic stricken, hunger crazed omnivores will swarm over me and attack all the people with resources.
After they kill each other off, I will come out of the rubble and collect up anything left over and try to coexist with what neighbors I have left.

I have the means. Have taken care of business now since 2000. But there was one thing we did not do. Well until last week. We actually did a dry run on getting out of town and staying a while in the woods with no electric or other amenities. We did well for the short time we were there, and to tell you the truth it seems as time goes on we would adapt very well. We can manage without this house, its phones, or its electricity or gas.
What comes comes, but as far as watching it burn? I would have to say, there is no way I can put out the fire, so yea I would have to watch it burn, and of course get outta dodge.

I would watch the world burn. Over the last X years I have become less detached in my concern for human affairs. I watch the OWS out of mild curiousity, and the same goes for all the other other stuff until something else peeks my interest. I just keep to the shadows as it were and observe.

A practice is a very good idea!
Glad it went well!

I live in a very rural area and we suffer from nasty ice storms in the winter and typically lose power here for 1-2 weeks.

We have generators, but we don't fire em up until about the 3rd or 4th day.
Run the fridge and etc...

To be honest It makes me happy to be without power.

Technology makes me feel icky

I have $10k in fishing and hunting equipment. I know how to use it and I'm good at it. I live in Michigan. I'm surrounded by the great lakes with thousands of rivers and inland lakes around me. I have plenty of food opertunities. Right now I do it for fun but if it came down to survival I'd get by just fine.
