Whoah dude I don't know about that. I'm all for feeding starving/dehydrating people around the world, in fact I would encourage that a substantial chunk of taxpayer money goes towards that. What I'm against is spending billions of dollars each week fighting wars.
We've given billions of dollars to Africa alone for starving babies. Why are they still starving? It's become pointless. Not mention that we have starving American babies. Perhaps it's time to feed them instead.

I gotta disagree. I understand we're in an incredbile amount of debt, but feeding starving people around the globe is one of the few places I would want to cut spending. The military would be at the top of my list, but giving some cheap food to people that are starving to death wouldn't even be considered.
I don't know....maybe putting any spending that's not absolutely necessary to fixing our problems just for a couple years until we're back in the green would be OK, but the idea of just bailing on starving people like that just sounds too harsh to me.edit on 6-10-2011 by TupacShakur because: To edit my post

Good analogy, it's hard to argue against that. But it's really disheartening that while we're talking about cutting that funding because we're running out of money to pay our Cable TV bills or buy some gas, there are people who have never even driven in a car or seen an air conditioner because they've been incredibly poor their whole lives, living in the same crap village. The world is a depressing place I guess.
What else do you think we should cut spending on?edit on 6-10-2011 by TupacShakur because: To edit my post
