He wasn't?

Then I must be confused, because the media is acting like Jesus just died. As opposed to a CEO who's primary responsibility is to maximize profits.

Presiding over a company which makes some stupid electronics doesn't make you a Savior?

Did you ever stop to think that perhaps....just maybe....some people kinda like Apple products? You seem to be a " victim" of Obama's class warfare.

Also, normal people feel empathy at the unexpected passing of another human.

I love using apple products, even the iPhone with its lousy audio.
I dislike Mr. Jobs a lot, basically for being full of pseudo (x) crap. the (x) can be replaced by "spiritual", at one time in his life; or "artistic" at another.

Obama who? contrary to the hawks's wettest dreams some aspects of this world still aren't entirely owned by the US. I for one have nothing to do with Mr. Obama, and he shouldn't care for me. I'm belgian, I'm surreal.

"Unexpected passing"?
Come one, did you see Mr. Jobs in the 21th century or do you have his "look i'm a porn star" image in mind?
While we didn't know the exact moment - how could we? - those in the trade weren't surprised at all. Do you really think that Jobs wouldn't have been remotely present during the Special Event unless he was really dying?

Of course I feel for the people who loved him and have to do without him. I also feel for all the other significant people who died that same day, ending a life that wasn't filled with self-promotion. Or the 20.000 children who had to die for us to be able to buy gizmo's.

And I especially feel sorry for that one person in this thread who thinks Jobs is his god. i hope one day they find a decent treatment to get rid of such a mental state.

"no one here gets out alive"...steve jobs was praised and is now mourned because of $$$$$ and nothing more...really sad...

if he was a regular nobody, like most everyone else is,no one would give a damn if he died or not...

we live in a cold hearted, arrogant, i me mine, fallen world... where money has destroyed love...

Yea...i read your opening post again and my opinion is unchanged. Normal people do not evaluate empathy based on someone's contribution to the human race....there's something wrong with you. I and never said that you said that....see how silly this sounds.

Steve Jobs changed your lives.
He made mistakes, just like all successful entrepreneurs have done in the past.
Not a god, but you are most likely typing on something that had it's roots in his garage.
You may be talking on something that had its roots in his incredible ability to foresee how people interact in the future.
That is his legacy. Do not confuse the day-to-day history of computerdom with the year-to-year insight, engineering and dedication of a true hero in today's version of the personal computer. He did not die on what you have not seen yet as well.

hmm sure sounds like you said i have no empathy for the passing of another human..
Tell me do you get this emotionally distraught over the passing of ALL humans on this planet??? I didnt think so because you would be crying 24/7.

There is nothing wrong with being wrong as long as you learn from your mistakes. Its ok really we dont care that your easily manipulated by the media. honestly we are ok with you being a corporate ho ho ho merry christmas.
I just feel bad for all the other sheep you corrupt with your duplicity. anyway its your life to waste as you wish. carry on.

The whole world should be in a constant state of mourning...But are we?...No... Only when someone rich and famous dies does our society mourn together...Materialism has warped our emotions and is destroying our love and compassion for eachother...

My great-grandmother loved and helped everyone she could...Who mourned for her?...About three people...I almost forgot...She was not rich and famous and she was born and raised in a day and age when people were not posessed by the temporary illusions of materialistic gain...

empathy -noun-----the intellectual identification with or vicarious experiencing of the feelings, thoughts, or attitudes of another.

emotionally DISTRAUGHT-adj---1. Deeply agitated, as from emotional conflict.
2. Mad; insane.

Pay attention slick....YOUR putting words in my mouth. Empathy is a normal human emotion....has nothing to do with media, blah blah blah. Nothing to do with world contributions or what ever you/ve been taught.

YOU are delusional possibly.

He was a horrible, horrible man. Refused to see his child and claimed it wasnt his because he was sterile.
The site of losers placing candles down because their cult leader died was pathetic.

The world is better off without him.

His comments on destroying android prove even with all the money in the world, he was not a winner.

Here's where i'm torn....partially agree with the dehumanizing of society, but I think there's more to it than an innovative product for sure...But I find my self able to 'connect and communicate' with more people that I can with a the good ole rotary land line I grew up with in the eighties. I found army buddies and so on.

It's hard to look someone in the eye and because we are talking to eachother through machines and not face to face,we are actually further disconnecting ourselves from one another...
