Celebrities need to understand....you can't bite the hand that feeds you. This is just ANOTHER example of how government/corporations are 1 in the same.

OK...technically no one precisely and literally calls anyone "Hitler" since everyone understands that the actual Adolph Hitler is dead.

His quote when asked why he thought the GOP Leader of the House playing golf with the President was "Disgusting"...

"That would be like Hitler playing golf with Netanyahu"

In case there was any confusion he elaborated that he thought the President or Democrats in general were the "Enemy" and that he thought there was no room for compromise or conversation.

Of course, no one ever actually believes that Hitler escaped the bunker, managed to become immortal, ceased aging and changed ethnicities and now is President of the United States.

I have seen you to be a smart and objective poster in the past. What am I missing?

ESPN is a bunch of losers. They fired a legend, not a man.

Old Hank should have just kept his mouth shut. He was using his identity as the opening theme of Monday Night Football to make a statement politically. MNF belonging to ESPN/ABC Sports has every right to fire him for acting as a representative of their brand without permission to do so. He used a strong analogy which he knew would be inflammatory to help increase his own personal brand at the expense of their brand.

All things being equal the MSM did blow the analogy out of proportion because he wasn't comparing anyone to Hitler but was speaking about how he viewed the relationship between the individuals playing golf. He got on TV not to do an interview but as a constructed ploy to get attention. If he were there for a legitimate interview he would answer the question and move on to the next one. Instead he answers the question and then runs out to left field to make a statement on a topic that is not relevant to the interview. He got what he wanted attention. His political views in a political interview aren't even presented in any meaningful way. He talks about how people are mad over the polarized Congress that it isn't good, and then presents himself as being all for it because anyone that doesn't agree with him is labeled the enemy.

People are saying how he is getting "Dixie Chicked", well yeah that isn't gonna happen. Because the people that listen to this man's music by and large actually agree with him. If anything they are gonna run out and buy tickets they wouldn't have because someone has to stand up and protect old Hank because the press beatup on him a little bit and now his income is reduced.

It had nothing to do with Hitler.

If you are attempting to infer that he was simply searching for an analogy to demonstrate opposing views, that is not accurate in context.

He went on to shout that they were the enemy..."They're the enemy...they're the enemy" he even said it twice.

When the Fox host asked "Who's the enemy?"

He shouted "OBAMA!! and Biden"

When the Fox host said he doesn't "agree with the (Hitler) analogy" Hank hit back with "well...a lot of people do"

It wasn't fleeting, it wasn't subtle, he declared the President the "Enemy" and said it loud and twice to make his point. He was given a chance to back off of the analogy and yet he doubled down on the Hitler thing.

He followed the controversy up by singing about how the USA is the "United Socialist States of America"

For those not aware.....Nazi was an abreviation for ...National sozialismus, National Socialism.

His views, which he is entirely entitled to, are not mysterious. He called the President Hitler and the enemy and defended the statement vehemently.

For the record, anyone calling the President "Hitler"....I disagree with the view, but I vehemently agree with their right to say it. I also agree with ESPN's right to protect their particularly non-partisan/American Pastime Brand.

Beyond Hank making an ugly statement...

Fox should share some of the blame. It was not random that they had him on to talk politics. They opened the interview with a question about politics, not music...they knew what they had.

Fox Producers pre-screened him, rubbed their hands together and said "this is going to be good!" Then the Fox Hosts acted all shocked he said controversial things.

Also Hanks PR Agent or whoever thought it was brilliant idea to book him on Fox News to talk politics should be fired. It was that guys job to protect Hanks brand.
