If you are unfamiliar with the LightSquared scandal, see my earlier post. The Obama administration pressured an Air Force general to alter his testimony in order to downplay the havoc the company’s signals could wreak on military GPS systems. We knew that some of President Obama’s donors are invested in LightSquared. What we didn’t know (or at least I didn’t) is that Obama himself was a LightSquared investor. But don’t take my word for it, this was published at the Huffington Post, hardly a news outlet that should fear being referred to Attack Watch.

The Obama campaign donor pay-to-play scandal gets more interesting. Now it looks like Obama’s boss, and political donor, George Soros (fat-cat hedge fund manager Obama claims not to like) has monetary ties to LightSquared.

LightSquared is the latest scandal for Obama. He invested in LightSquared. His FCC granted LightSquared a waiver. His administration tried to get two generals to change their testimony about LightSquared. LightSquared executives gave money to Obama’s presidential campaign.

As Republican lawmakers begin to dig into the White House’s cozy relationship with a startup wireless company and the wealthy Democratic donor who owns it, a new character has appeared on the story’s edges: liberal superdonor, conservative bete noire and controversial investor George Soros. Soros reportedly invested in the telecom company LightSquared through a hedge fund, and many of the nonprofits he finances have backed LightSquared in regulatory and policy disputes… LightSquared wants to compete with AT&T, Verizon and Sprint to provide mobile broadband… Harbinger Capital Partners, a hedge fund run by billionaire financier Philip Falcone, owns LightSquared, and deftly steered the company through some tricky regulatory waters (with would-be competitors AT&T and Verizon fighting him along the way) to get preliminary approval for its plan to start a high-speed broadband wireless network…

Generally speaking, generals do not tell lies. Nor are generals in the practice of concocting stories before congressional committees. That is why Air Force Space Command General William Shelton’s gutsy and potentially career-ending and provocative testimony to the House Armed Services subcommittee recently should be taken seriously.

In what can only described as the ultimate irony, billionaire financier George Soros has come out in support of the the Occupy Wall Street protesters. During a Monday news conference at U.N. headquarters, Soros was asked what he thought about the “Days of Rage” protests. “Actually I can understand their sentiment, frankly,” he said to the reporters.

(Daily Caller) — The “Occupy Wall Street” protesters just became a little more *GASP* mainstream. Moveon.org has announced its support for the anti-capitalist movement and is encouraging members to join in its “massive ‘Virtual March on Wall Street.’”

George Soros is one of the most powerful men on earth. A New York hedge fund manager, he has amassed a personal fortune estimated at about $13 billion (as of 2009). His company, Soros Fund Management, controls at least another $25 billion in investor assets. Since 1979, Soros's foundation network -- whose flagship is the Open Society Institute (OSI) -- has dispensed more than $5 billion to a multitude of organizations whose objectives are consistent with those of Soros. With assets of $1.93 billion as of 2008, OSI alone donates scores of millions of dollars annually to these various groups.

It's a scene journalists dream about - a group of coworkers toasting a Pulitzer Prize. For the team at investigative start-up ProPublica, it was the second time their fellow professionals recognized their work for journalism's top honor. For George Soros and ProPublica's other liberal backers, it was again proof that a strategy of funding journalism was a powerful way to influence the American public.

A couple days after the initial launch of the Occupy Wall Street protests, Infowars.com received an email taking us to task for attributing the movement to Anonymous, the activist hacker group.

“There is one major inaccuracy in all the coverage that has been bothering me, and that is the focus on Anonymous as the architects and organizers of the event,” an email received September 23 states. “The initial call for the protest was put out by the magazine Adbusters.”

Like many so-called leftist non-profits, Adbusters is a creature of globalist foundations. According to research conducted by Activistcash.com, Adbusters takes money from a number of supposedly progressive foundations, including the big Kahuna of leftish foundations – the Tides Foundation and Tides Center. Between 1996 and 2003, Tides doled out $334,217.00 to Adbusters, by far the largest amount of eight foundations donating.

Why don't you go along to the protests on the 15th October and then you will get to find out first hand, instead of relying on articles in various news outlets. Maybe then you can enlighten us with something of substance?

Maybe you will see it's a cross section of society who are pretty pissed off with continuously being dictated to about the economic woes of the country, only to see Bankers continuing with their lavish lifestyles at the expense of people losing their jobs, welfare being cut, services being cut.

You know a lot of people go on about the jobless being pararsites, what do you think the Banking System is?

This is the plan of the Banking Elite, the first steps to enslaving the masses.

In the U.K we have extremely high unemployment, public services have been cut and there is even more job losses and cuts on the horizon. But what does our Prime Minister want? A BIG Society to replace these services, people doing the same job, providing the same service for NOTHING.

Get real, get out there and then come back with your own opinions and not other peoples.

I don't see the irony. George Soros has helped many nations transition into democracies through revolution. Since we have obviously lost our democratic mechanism in the US, it seems quite normal for him to support a movement against Wall Street. Just because he knows how to use the system to make money doesn't mean he supports it. He's said as much in several interviews.

As to the connection between him and Obama, I can't verify but I believe Obama when he says he does not like Soros. They are pretty opposite when it comes to end-game economic evolution.

The rest is very interesting and I'll be interested to see what happens. Hopefully the movement stays (and becomes more so) legitimate.

It's really amazing to see people here so determined to support the self serving Soros even in light of what he has done to various economies and the billions he has made manipulating the stock and currency markets. People desperately want this movement not to be the puppet of soros that it really is....wow, it's like some kind of mass hypnosis or stockholm syndrome.
