Russia and China have vetoed a UN Security Council resolution on Syria. The European-backed draft called on Damascus to end its crackdown on protesters, or face "targeted measures". Its genius really, but Syria is and will be the stumbling block, expect this to turn very nasty, if NATO goes ahead, with its planned intervention.
