Yup.
Two weeks maybe.
Things could get interesting if it keeps up.

Can you specify "interesting"...?

Hey, didn't Harold Camping say the word was going to End on October 21st 2011?
www.mlive.com...

There are fewer billboards this time, but the people who brought you the popular Rapture "scare" of May 2011 are back with a more subdued sequel titled "Wait, Wait, We Meant October."

Of course I don't buy into that, but I needed some humor over this.

Just a question for those like Phage.

If that was on our side, and that happened, what would or could happen?

Phage means that it will be interesting for those in the far North, nice aurora's
A lot can happen to sunspots in 10-12 days, I would venture to say that this particular sunspot will decrease in that time, with new spots appearing.
Even if this was Earth directed, you wouldn't know it....... apart from the radio static
Don't worry, nothing out of the ordinary is happening here, just typical sun cycles.

Another question here;

Is this related to Sunspot 1302?

www.sciencedaily.com...

Behemoth sunspot 1302 unleashed another strong flare on Saturday morning -- an X1.9-category blast at 5:40 am EDT. NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) recorded the extreme ultraviolet flash. NASA images showing a shadowy shock wave racing away from the blast site are a sign that the blast produced a coronal mass ejection (CME) that could deliver a glancing blow to Earth's magnetic field on Sept. 26.

It's Mercury.
The horizontal lines are the result of oversaturation of the sensor.

No relation to region 1302.
The CME being discussed in the OP occurred on the far side of the Sun. Region 1302 is just now rotating out of view.

I see.
I'm not going to pretend to understand how that works, but thanks for the response...oh and speaking of mercury, it looks like that's where the CME from the OP is headed.

(I'm sure Mercury is used to it by now, just pointing that out)

Well the Mayan Calendar actually ends in about 2 weeks, all these doomsdayers keep saying Oct 18...

We're all doomed now for sure....

not..!!

lol

It's just a CME and it would take a mega-tripple XYZ CME to destroy the earth..hehe

The worst of the worst X could wipe out coms and electronics world wide, but that is all...
