I predict the following before the close of 2011. Of course I can not reveal my sources, as I'm some sort of compassionate future-you who has travelled back in time to give you vague doomsday predictions with no substantial advice of how to avoid, or cope with it.

1.) Elenin doom will continue to spike then disappear over the coming weeks, yet still be talked about and used conveniently as reasoning for any future quake over 5.0 as it aligns with whatever is conveniently between it and whatever-the-hell at the time (maybe an obelisk).
2.) Random users will come on with capitalised proof for various incidents and stories generally concocted by mis-information outlets and prankers in the hope that no one has posted the complete crap already. The crux of the title will be preceded with "IT'S OFFICIAL!!!!".
3.) Closer to November, more and more people will discover YU55 and go into an even greater panic than Elenin induced. As it comes closer there will be more YT videos, and threads on ATS predicting doom scenarios, and claiming it's being piloted intelligently by Chuck Norris. "YU55 is for real, it's no gimmick". Once YU55 passes, the next one starts.
4.) As the panic increases, malleable people will post of their intense fear and share info on how many months worth of canned food and bottled water they have stocked up on. Comparisons between this and the stories of FEMA's food purchasing will arise.
5.) As we go through a period of relatively close calls from celestial objects, people will post of FEMA being aware of the impending doom, thus their alleged purchasing of body bags and food supplies. Along with the rushed construction of underground 'cities'.
6.) More and more discussion will commence on the 'occupy xxxxxx' movement, with more and more people being arrested and complaining of being lured into traps for said arrests. Eventually violence will break out, and completely discredit the peaceful movement. Harsher penalties will be announced for said protesters, which will incite the movement even more. Eventually predictions of marshal law may become reality, albeit on a very low scale, ironically instigated by the peaceful protests of those who for at least some part, fear it.
7.) Sun spots and CME's will continue to increase, showering us in their radiant goodness. Stories of global electrical failure will inspire some and scare others. Some people will stock up on abacus', mechanical sewing machines and steam trains in fear of this moment.
8.) Further to the ancient photos of John Travolta and Nicholas Cage: Brad Pitt, David Beckham and Miley Cyrus will be proven to be demons from the 1700's. Their talent will be regarded as sorcery, the very reason they travelled forward in time to a more accepting society.
9.) Threads will be posted on every conceivable topic, alleging conspiracy. The resident debunkers will analyse every allegation and debunk it by whatever means necessary, even if said debunking sounds completely ridiculous. The trouble is finding the balance. As the owner of this site once said, the purpose of the site is to work out what is fake, and what is actually deeper than it seems. As I've said before, conspiracy is like porn. Type anything with 'conspiracy' at the end and you'll most likely get a hit.

Don't take it personally, I'm not having a go at anyone in particular, it's mealy an observation of what will come over the next two months. People have their own reasoning for acting the way they do, but some go to the extreme. Y2K anyone? I remember spending countless hours trying to convince people nothing would happen. Meanwhile they finish off the fresh décor in their bunkers and hide with years worth of canned supplies. Not everything is unreal though, CME's, actual dangerous comets/asteroids etc, war, the economy (very real) and so on. I'm more pointing out the ones that have no relevance, and are diverting attention away from what you should be focussing on. The key is to discuss it rationally, like many people do here. There is a trend for some people to fear-monger however, possibly using the people on this site as a university/college case study for their psychology degree.

This site has some brilliant minds, some kind-hearted people, a lot of followers, those who believe what someone else typed because they said so, and those who refuse to believe there is anything more to any story, at all. That's what makes it a unique place to be. It's also fascinating entertainment!

The world could disappear tomorrow, so instead of worrying about it, go and have some fun?

Feel free to move this to rant, but i honestly believe my predictions are accurate.

Hey OP, it looks like you just took a snapshot summary of ATS 'New Topics' page and posted them here as a 'prediction.'

You're at about 100% accuracy already! Bravo~

Well that's ironic because I didn't, but it sums up my point. I based it on the last few months of being here a lot more than I have been over the years. Didn't join until recently as a lot of people here have done.

My prediction: More fake, misleading thread titles will be abound as those who think they arebso much better than others speak up to point out their faults, giving their ego a temporary boost while further dividing the membership with the overlying cynical tone present in such threads. Debunkers will all hi five themselves whilst declaring "Yay! I was smarter than some person on the internet deemed crazy by my own diagnosis!" And rather than contributing to the public conversation, members will make an "ATS career" out of continually pointing out that they are smarter than a confused, scared, misled individual.

Time and time again, they will make a personal "ego-profit" by living in denial and pretending that its not normal for people to contemplate their own death and that of the world they know. Even though they have been doing it since the dawn of time, these egotistical deniers of human nature will some expect the whole of humanity to somehow magically change to suit THEIR expectations and desires, proving themselves to be even more delusional than the doomers themselves, as what the doomers talk about are THINGS THAT COULD ACTUALLY HAPPEN SOMEDAY!! And a lot of them actually WILL happen SOMEDAY. One thing for sure is that nothing lasts forever. The world WILL end. Some people, however, seem to have a huge problem with people contemplating WHEN and HOW such an event will come about and would rather spend their time and energy attempting to REVERSE THOUSANDS OF YEARS OF HUMAN NATURE.

I personally believe these are the people who are the MOST afraid. When people are deeply frightened, they will delude themselves into believing "it can't be true" and "everything will be alright" leading them to this impossible conquest of reversing human nature... "C'mon guys, stop it, you're SCARING ME!! Just... Just... DON'T TALK ABOUT IT!!" These are the people who know deep inside that they are not ready to die, they are not "right with God". (insert your own personal beliefs) However, you won't see me or any doomers making threads about this strange behavior from cynical skeptics as the majority of us open-minded-anything-is-possible type people do not have the delerium that human mature can change overnight, nor that ridicule is the way to make it happen, and we know that being afriad to die is as much a part of human nature as contemplation of it.

What goes AGAINST human nature and hinders development is denying the truth that you are afraid and covering it up with this whole "you people are crazy for acknowledging what is possible" charade. Most doomers will admit that they are afraid at times, and yet the conversation of death also seems to strengthen people who are not afraid of these candid discussions. I see people looking deep within themselves, many feeling pretty good about what they see, and responding to nature and the infinite possibilities of the future in the likeness of a favorite quote from a favorite movie of mine: "Do your worst, and I shall do mine!" Others, who seem to be quite displeased with what they have found within themselves, go the other way... "No, not yet! You people are out of your minds! It can't happen yet, it just... CAN'T!!!"

Dude... Are you SERIOUS?? I mean, sure, ill flag it, too, in hopes that people will read my post. But, it "made you laugh"?? Or is that in the same context of people who type in LOL when we are 99.9% sire that they did Not laugh oit loud, but merely agree slightly with a statement they have put little thought into? Cause if you REALLY thought that was funny, then I should start making threads. I could pump out 10 or more per day alone just based on ats social commentary that would put you in a mental hospital you'd be laughing so hard.. oh, wait... I think I get it now.. you already ARE in one! (Ba-Dun! Tssh!)

Hi there Zack...

whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy so serious ??

Yeah, I AM in a mental institute. It's called life.

Believe me I try to be an open-minded-anything-is-possible type of person but you have to admit that the OP has some good points...

8.) Further to the ancient photos of John Travolta and Nicholas Cage: Brad Pitt, David Beckham and Miley Cyrus will be proven to be demons from the 1700's.

Just that line would be worth a Flag and a Star...

And as far as this goes :

then I should start making threads. I could pump out 10 or more per day alone just based on ats social commentary that would put you in a mental hospital you'd be laughing so hard..

Looking forward to them.

Edit to add :

Just to prove a point. This thread is currently on the front page :

Aliens to attack earth on November 27, 2011

You should read it. I personally think that it's funnier than this thread here. It is part of being in the ATS community. Cheers !!

Hi Zack, I do appreciate your detailed reply. I have to point out however that you got the wrong end of the stick. I said there are several issues discussed on here that are very poignant and worthy of discussion. I was more offering a little satire on the extreme paranoia of some, mixed with the intentional mis-information that some choose to instigate. Not to mention the fake prophets that come here to spread their egotistical, self righteous delusion to those who are gullible enough to lap it up like a milkshake.

I'm not a debunker, so you have me wrong there. I'm more of an observer, someone who sits back and takes in the goings-on. I certainly have my own opinions too which i contribute regularly. I believe many things are possible, and there are thousands of questions unanswered. So don't mistake my being droll as debunking, it's not at all. Unless of course it's a thread about aliens shooting missiles at the moon, or illuminati using The Office as a propaganda tool, or the 'occupy' movement being beneficial to society etc.

Also it's fine to contemplate the extinction of man, but you come across as maybe doing that too much in your reply to me here. Try to focus on what you're doing while you're here a bit more?

This is not an ego-boost thread, it's a bit of light entertainment. Treat it as such, and relax.
