Just so we can all enjoy a little intellectual honesty about this topic:
"Contrary to general assumptions, low and middle income earners do not pay the bulk of federal income taxes in America. Because our income tax system is progressive, high income earners automatically pay a higher percentage of taxes on their already higher incomes. This has led to a scenario where the top 1% of income earners (and incoming earning couples) now pay more income taxes than the bottom 95% combined. While arguments can be made one way or the other about who should pay more or less, who does pay more or less is a subject about which there can be no confusion."
From 2009...Federal Government Statistics.
Exactly.
This is a symptom of the problem.

Sorry, but the economic self-immolation started when the Clinton administration forced banks to give mortgages to people who could not afford them. While Bush alienated a lot of Republicans with his fascist behavior, he also didn't do enough to stop the economy from becoming a bonfire.
Stop blaming "the other party" for everything and do some homework.
And put the kool-aid back in the fridge - it's getting rancid.

I worked in the mortgage industry
Nobody forced my company, COUNTRYWIDE to do anything, every single LO (loan officer) I knew
fudged the due diligence. It was company policy to close as many loans as possible. In fact
two sub prime heads were "phased out" when they started pointing out the fraudulent practices.
Due diligence is the responsibility of the lender, you know that word responsibility, there is another
word called ethics, but I want bother you with such petty concepts.

Look, here's the issue:
The billionaires WANT to pay more taxes. They don't MIND paying higher taxes than everyone else. But of course, there are some who do mind and then buy out politicians who will then try to prohibit higher taxes on the ultra rich.
If I had it my way, I'd install a flat tax. Would it work? Who knows. We seem to fu*k up everything else, so I doubt it.
they can, just write a friggin check!
WTF!
it won't make a dent in the deficit!

You men the government made a bad decision?
You mean the government is corrupt?
I am shocked, that must mean that Wall street is good then, glad you cleaned it up!
Government makes a bad investment for 700 million, with the possibility of generating a lot of clean energy...
Bad government...trying to get us off of oil and coal. Bad.
But wall street...make a few billion dollars worth of bad investments with the intent of benefiting themselves, with others and the environment are not in mind.
But nooooo, we have to blame the government....
The irony in my post should be quite evident.

my fellow americans you are so damn seriously gullable
Neo think about this - if the masses are too stupid to understand what is going on (And they are indeed that stupid) and this is a fact that the ultra rich already understand and capitalize on, what make you think that your individual ranting and raving will change anything?
