Wait soooo im trying to get an understanding here. Let use myself for example. I have a family, im in the service (14 years), have my own business (2 patents) and am doing business in the renewable energy sector. I pay my taxes as a middl class citizen. If i became wealthy ( god willing with continued hard work) i would expect to pay more in taxes, making more money and all. My question is in being that i would except that does it make me "indeed stupid"? Or would i be a better american if i sat home all day doeing nothing and striving for nothing ya know, in know way trying to better our environment? I understand people have their opinions about the potus. I think people fail to take into consideration this wonderful goverment that gets passed from potus to potus. The government does not need a potus to operate. Its all smoke and mirrors IMO. Yes the potus is held responsible and should be for the action of he government. But com onnnnn thpotus is set up for failure from the get go. Big government has its own agendas!

But what Obama knows is that the uber wealthy who make up the elite such as Buffett hide their wealth in tax shelters, so effectively it doesn't matter what rate you say you are gonna tax them.

C'mon you admit the flaws in the whole "progressive income tax" claim in your own post...the wealthy hide their wealth...meaning they aren't paying the taxes they need to. Add onto that the countless loopholes they have, and you should realize the wealthy don't pay near enough taxes. They are indeed being taxed at a lower rate when you look at how much they hide from the government, and the loopholes.

Whatever, keep defending those who don't give a $%^& about you, and will send your children to die in war for the slightest reasons. Defend those who want to enslave the children who don't die in wars.

I know, right? Taxes have been lower than ever and he is complaining about progressive income tax. We need to restore it back to the Clinton era and get rid of these loopholes that are ripping off our nation and our childrens future.

It all just boils down to the rich need to pay more - they have sucked at the teat for the last couple of decades and the chickens are coming home to roost. I know for a fact -- big big boat sales were good this summer - did any of you white knights for the rich -- buy a big boat something bigger than 40 feet. All of the wealth can not keep floating to the top -- history has shown that is always a bad period - and we are doing it in spades.

Many Americans understand what the repercussions of this "tax the rich" agenda will reap onto the small business owners and their employees.

Obama talks about "millionaires and billionaires", that they need to "pay their fair share"... ect...keeping the focus narrow and direct but the picture is much larger than taxing the "rich".

Since when are businesses who make 250k a year a "millionaire"? These business are the bread and butter for many workers. Isn't obamacare going to be enough? EPA? FDA?

We have a class-A food stamp president who has sold his soul to the devil so that American's are on their knee's and dependent on the few who are powerful and rich.
It's amazing to see how he can utter a few words, rinse and repeat, then he sits back in amusement as to how easy it is to control the unhappy, emotional, gimme-gimme fools who fear someone is getting away with something... let's punish them/judge them and destroy them, no matter who else gets destroyed in the process.

I call this (class warfare) the "misery loves company" crowd, who can't control their emotions long enough to think of the consequences if their tantrums are successful.
