Yeah, we've screwed the planet up (obviously not us on ATS personally, the whole of mankind) so we don't need to look beyond the earthly realm to find the culprits, don't worry, the Anti-flying-spaghetti-monster isn't coming to eat your children!

If the 112th Pope is supposed to pave the way for the Anti-christ (which Marilyn Manson has already put his hand up and admitted to being anyway) then that's a good enough reason to not bother with another Pope, disband the Catholic Church and distribute it's massive wealth to the poor people around the world and jail all the priests who have fiddled with kids.

Simples! *squeek*

He is a very successful pope .

I don't understand that hwy he is resigning after those many successes he gained like :

Church child abusing scandals

Letting gays and lesbians to marry in church

.
.
.

Why did he do this ?

May be he is offering that " the people who like to have sex with animals can marry in church" and others are rejecting his opinion. So, he is going to resign.

Perhaps there's some scandal gonna surface to do with him, maybe to do with Hitler Youth, maybe he's been found out to be a child abuser himself, maybe he doesn't want the responsibility of being the figurehead for the worlds most corrupt religious institution or maybe he's fed up of $hitting in the woods or wearing a funny hat. Until we are told all we can do is speculate like I just have, even then we may never get the truth.

you forgot what I mentioned after :

Fact : Letting gays and lesbians to marry in church.

My speculation : May be he is offering that " the people who like to have sex with animals can marry in church" and others are rejecting his opinion. So, he is going to resign.

The fact can not be neglected : Letting gays and lesbians to marry in church.

Yeah i don't disagree with the good things he has done but nobody can ever undo the wrongs that have been performed under the guise of the Catholic Church, who knows how much more advanced science and medicine would be today if it wasn't for them.

I really can't see any Pope letting people marry animals in church, can you?

I can only hope that after all is said and done, Rome and the Vatican are left intact. Because the greatest tragedy in all of this would be to loose countless priceless treasures of history, art and architecture, most of which has been kept secret to the world at large, to one final act of greed and corruption by the Roman Catholic Church.

Oh scheisse.

And here I was thinking Malachy was wrong. Perhaps we will see the Roman falling into the timeline accordingly.

Interesting times, indeed.

Curious for opinion, though - do you see the city of seven hills as Rome, or as Jerusalem? I personally lean towards Rome, but have heard arguments both ways.

Be well.

Mecca is also on 7 hills. You have literal Babylon and spiritual Babylon. Literal is Islam, spiritual is Rome. Both are the old Roman Empire. The Ottoman Empire was the eastern leg of the Roman Empire that survived the western leg by 1,000 years.

An amazing detail about the city is that it is surrounded by seven hills. Mecca is also the city which gave birth to Muhammad (the strongest antichrist ever to ...

Hmm...I wasn't aware about Mecca's hills, thanks.

I think I've probably still got to go with Rome on this one, though...historically, I believe Rome has likely been a worse aggressor toward basic christian faith without intercessors than islam has, and the unbridled cruelty exhibited by Rome seems to figure in more likely here than that of Islam, which actually exhibited surprisingly good manners and humanity during the crusades (which were for the most part driven by the motivations of Rome in the first place) as compared to the behavior of the crusaders, for the most part.

As usual, only time will tell...but that's what I'm betting on based on my limited awareness of the histories of each party. Those in the vatican have in good portion effectively usurped the place of Christ, added a host of stumbling blocks, been involved in too many hypocrisies and wanton slaughter against other believers, and so forth...I have a hard time ascribing the 17th chapter of Revelation to any other group.

Thanks again.

No friend, it's both. Islam and Rome. Literal and spiritual. Babylon was never destroyed as the Bible says it will be. Where it will never be inhabited again and it's bricks would never again be used. This isn't even the case today. People still live there and Saddam reused tons of bricks from there. The antichrist has to carry 3 tities: "King of BABYLON, The Assyrian, the Prince of Tyre" (Lebanon). None of those places are European.

Just something in my head,

But, when Christ tells Peter to get behind him, it's because he is trying to derail God's plan of Salvation. He was not saying that Peter was the devil or is the Devil etc. And yes, Peter denied Christ three times before the cock crowed, but Jesus forgave Peter and reinstated him as an Apostle, or did we forget the whole feed my sheep episode after Christ's ressurection?

That being said, do I think the "birthing pains" are upon us with the World and it's End? Yes, I do. What part the Pope stepping down (which, I don't believe will happen) and St. Malachy's prophecy entails- I don't know. I am not entirely sure nor am I overly familiar with St. Malachy. But given what we see going on in the world today- I am confident to say-the Ball is rolling.

Right now Obama is hated from the Right, criticized over his possible birthplace, slowly losing support from the Left because of his constant compromising, and hated for his spending and socialist stances.

My brother came up with a theory, and this Pope resignation lends it some legs.

Suppose Obama has advance knowledge of something? Suppose it doesn't matter how much he spends or encumbers future generations, because something is in the works for the next 2 years. Suppose Disclosure is coming, and it will bring many other things with it? Suppose Obama's master plan will be revealed next year, and it will win back all of his previous supporters, as well as most of his detractors?

What if something comes along to make the economic woes moot. The Pope resigns. Obama's policies start making sense, and the world is saved by something Obama has set afoot.

Would he then have enough momentum and popularity to win the Presidency for 4 more years in a landslide? Perhaps become so well liked and influential that he could unite the world? Islam and Catholicism united for world peace?

Would he then become the new Anti-Christ?

It doesn't even have to be Obama. It could be any charismatic world leader that comes on to the scene just as the economies recover and the Pope exits. Even those of us with our eyes open will surely be swayed by this leader. Who will it be?

When things are at their worst, people are the most impressionable and eager to accept change. I believe it is coming, but from which direction will it come? Foreign, Domestic, Left or Right? It doesn't really matter, because it will be so smooth, we will all be taken in.

You may be entirely correct on this. I've never delved all that deeply into studies of the end times and 'the' antichrist as relates to literal Babylon and the applicable old testament prophecies.

I always tend get shaken off these studies by getting lost in the rabbit warren of what I should be understanding literally as well as trying to sort through what applied historically and what aims to the end (and which are both, in some cases).

Will try to get back into this. Thanks again.

PS - as far the title requirements you mention, could you source the applicable verses for me as a starting point? Much obliged.

Hahahaha! How can you resign if your omnipotent?
The best answer is that he was NEVER omnipotent
EVER.
Good riddance to the Panzer Pope, worshiper of
Saturn/Satan or whatever.
I never knew that the Pope was ever regarded as being omnipotent.

God is said to be omnipotent, that I have heard.

He hasn't been, but you see people get stars for stupidity. He is said to be "infallible" in terms of interpreting church doctrine, which is a much different concept. No, I don't believe that either. Just sayin'

This shouldn't come as any surprised. It takes man to fulfill prophecy. In fact, it's easier to fulfill prophecy out of fear of perdition than accept truth.

Jesus knowingly fulfilled many prophecies concerning the Messiah. For example, he chose to ride into Jerusalem on the back of a donkey. It was no coincidence.

As one of the anti-christs, the Glory of the Olive is no different. Ratzinger knew his assignment before accepting his position. He follows the catholic-contrived prophecy as a matter of policy. It's easy to order a horoscope and follow it's instructions explicitly than to break away without 'divine' direction.

Ratzinger is completely under the power of the wicked one - meaning, he'd rather follow a centuries old prophecy of his fraternal clan than administer God's will.

This is exactly what I thought when I heard the news. I always assumed he would die or be assassinated to pave the way for the "last" pope. We'll officially have to wait and see if he actually steps down at all, but when/if he does, the one who fills his shoes should be watched very carefully.

libero is a right wing, catholic (but only when in serves for something) paper, many times condemned for its false news. it's a hoaxers' paper basically. socci is in the same league: often he has attacked scientists because on the bible it was written otherwise... so, imagine...

I did another search and it seems that it has been tagged as a rumor. Here is the LINK. Good call. Thanks for pointing it out.

I can't see, too. But imagine that father is asking a female cat to marry an old woman.

I can't stop laughing.

America. Plain and simple. That is the huge obstacle in the way right now.....and I wouldn't even say it's an "obstacle" it was part of the plan all along. Make america a 3rd world country and see how quickly the NWO comes into play.
