I think many people have a distorted idea of what anonymous is. Anyone can be anonymous because there is no official member system, all it takes is saying "i am anonymous" there, done, that's all it takes..so whenever I see one of these youtube videos of a person claiming to represent anonymous in any form I can't help but laugh, it's impossible to represent anonymous because anonymous is anyone and everyone, anonymous is not a group or organization, it's anyone on the net that uses the name or tag anon or anonymous, or simply claims they are anonymous.

I agree they are a little unsettling but the global awakening is starting and this is just the beginning. i have a warning for everyone here and it does have to do with anonymous. If you have money in Bank of America TAKE IT ALL OUT TODAY. do not wait. Run do not walk. Its called a bank run for a reason. GO NOW! that is all i can say at the momeny, strapped for time.

I understand what you're saying and totally agree, well almost totally, but I'm not going to put my head above the trench for I'm-alright-Jack next to me to gain the benefit by simply sitting there playing on his Ipad that the tax payer got for him. If I thought we all would work together and we all would be willing to put our heads on the line, then I would, I'd be rallying everyone.
There is too much division and life has become an endless existence of convenient undertakings, rather than a united nation of strong willed individuals ready to do what must be done. The powers that be have already won, I hate to admit, but I can't see how they can lose.
Europe was plunged in to two world wars, many believe the attack on nationalism that followed was to prevent a third. In my opinion it was an attack to divide nations internally to lead to a united Europe of drones with a central government! They did not care about the division that may be caused from nationalism or a war that may ensue, they cared about the unity of a strong willed people that would oppose the one state dream that both Napoleon and Hitler chased. Each and every European nation has been lead along a path, carefully, to ensure that unity does not ever happen. Nationalism is the most dangerous form of unity, because it is easy to identify with your countrymen and women. Next comes the class war. This is the reason for being so carefree with the welfare state, they knew people would abuse it, that wasn't the issue, they knew that this would divide further the workers from the non-workers. The immigration doors already broken off by the previous shower, was just another way of further dividing the country and of course giving them priority on the housing lists, encouraging employers to hire them, legal or illegal. Spread the wealth, what people didn't realise was that it wasn't making the poor richer, it was making all poor, but all blaming the other for being poor! Everything that has happened is about dividing up the population, so there is no unity and there never will be.
There is so much in common with how the Communists in USSR worked that it almost feels like Communism never died at all.
I want what you want, but I'm not going to do it while so many refuse to get out of bed let alone get out and work!
The real revolution comes when the workers of this country say enough is enough, by then this country will be long since finished. I can see what they have done and even I myself have fallen to the trap, so have millions of others, which is why I say that they have already won!
If you want the best for your children, then get out, no other European country will end the same as this. This country will become an overcrowded lawless pit on the planet, followed by a police state like no other in the history of this planet. I saw this years ago, I've worked in government, was in the Met, you could see it all happening, the politics, the policies, the statistic gathering, it's all to monitor and control the chaos before smashing hard down on the population.
That being said, the alternative to this government and the system being smashed by movements etc is far more chaotic and would not be any better off than on the path that we are leading. We need a political party to take control, a workers' party to take control. We've had rich boys and girls who have no idea what it is like to live in the real world. We don't need anarchists and socialists with schemes that simply smash the working men and women even more that they are already getting smashed. Ruling with emotion, it will destroy more than it would ever create. We need a party that will get all able bodied and minded working age individuals back to work, that will reward work, help those families that do work, encourage a positive mindset within the minds of our youth, encourage social cohesion, help our elderly, nationalise the energy companies, smash the banking cartel, a party that will get us all united.
It's a tough position that we are in, but it will get worse. Fifty years of British apathy has created this and now unfortunately, we're all getting our throats cut.

hmm maybe I should watch the vid and shut the hell up.

seriously though they better have practical solutions dealing with organisations like the secret service cia nsa area 50 etc etc etc because they could easily orchestrate an oppressive fascist take over if the revolution is a success....
the chaos it will bring is dangerous for this reason.

I urge everyone to be less naive and unquestioning of the anon agenda. it is in your best interest. anon may already be under the control of one of those fascist agencies I mentioned above. please wake up to the realities of this very old civilisation. do secure your future at independent ground level according to the means of you local community because reliance on the political system or revolutionary solutions to it are very unpredictable by nature.... can someone explain precisely what is going to happen if anon succeed in taking over America? ANYONE!!!!?
I don't really think anon's goal is taking over america, and to be honest they're not really asking for any kind of control. Because anon is leaderless, anyone can throw on a mask and hoopdy doo on the youtubes. That's why I take it as a case-to-case basis and I find this to be a good intentioned honest effort.

Occupy Guangzhou
Occupy Shanghai
Occupy Beijing
Occupy Moscow

Until then, ANON will only be running their silly "occupy" parties in western countries, where they actually have the freedom to assemble, and it's nothing we haven't already seen a thousand times. Yawn....

You mean we USED to have the freedom to assemble, past tense.

Nowadays it's more accurately described as the obligation to pay huge fees for a permit that the city agrees and allows, or else you don't have any freedom to assemble at all. Interesting how freedom turned into a fee isn't it?

I don't know about you, but 'feedom' ain't 'freedom'.

I'm sure many more towns and cities will be "occupied"
I can't help but think about all the other protests that turned deadly across the globe, and I sincerely hope these stay peaceful, but something is telling me otherwise. Good luck yall!

Anonymous has said the protests should be peaceful. Also, there's no way they could cover every city in their video. It's literally going to be every big city....

Every 'big' city... yet they will Occupy Youngstown, Ohio? Consider me impressed when they Occupy Beijing...or Tehran.

How about Tokyo, Sydney, Chicago, Miami, and Los Angeles? Are those not big enough for you?
I'm very sorry, then.

PEOPLE READ THIS POST and give credit were it is due. I don't think anon have anything to take credit for when it comes to this event. It was not organised by them. They have simply put up vids of them saying they back this movement. So PLEASE every one give credit solely to people who have bothered to turn up and are on the streets now.I am not saying they are not a positive voice they are.Simply put you can find so many posters here on this site and all over the web that say the same as anon. All my credit and admiration goes to the farther, mother, elderly person and university kids who DON'T hide behind anonymous posts an vids online they are there rite now on the street getting arrested and using there own names taking all the repercussions for being part of this on our behalf.i know alot of you want to believe that a hero hides behind masks BUT they don't they are the man don't the sop or the woman behind the desk of an office they are me an you.
My view on this protest is heres a post i put another thread about this when i first heard about the movement OLD POST Nothing will come of this event, what i mean is no significant change. You will see riots from some parts which is a given in any protest. Due to the larger the protesting masses get, the meaning of the protest gets diluted. Also the purpose of this protest effects such a wide range of people from all walks of life. So not everyone has the education to FULLY understand the ways that wall street and the corporate world works but they know enough for the need of change to spark with in them. If a protest gets to a certain size and gains certain level of momentum it is inevitable that riots Will accrue. I for one know that nothing will change through this protest but i encourage that people don't give up hope instead do this on a monthly basis. Because one big protest or sporadic protesting will not get the stubborn corporate world to pay heed. But ALL WAYS know that YOU can NOT control this protest it effects TO MANY people.

I'm sorry you cannot see the commonality of those two cities. They sit squarely in the middle of truly oppresive regimes...

I should've been clear. Fine.

Occupy ANY city in China, Iran or Russia... then I'll be impressed.

Better?

Can you show me evidence that protesting in those cities leads to being gunned down in the last few years at least? To show it's recent and ongoing.

China has become a lot more like America, and America has become a lot more like China in the last few decades, politically and economically speaking.

Repression in China used to be exceptionally brutal, however nowadays it's more like just plain brutal or incredibly harsh.
Repression in the USA used to be just harsh, now it's becoming more like incredibly harsh.

The reality is that in both nations, China and the USA, we can expect to be beaten up, pepper sprayed, possibly even tazed or have bones broken from being thrown around --- all for simply peacefully protesting.

In both nations, which are technically Republics in form of governance, have created systems of law governing the people's natural rights to assembly, and require any organization to acquire specific permits which require fees to be paid, and allow for the police to prepare for the event.

Also, the reason for the protest must be specified in both nations, and China has become slightly more tolerant and will allow a protest which is against something which favors their political or economic agenda. Same with America.

If the government does not approve the permit request, you will be arrested and probably get hurt pretty good.

But you won't get mowed down by a firing squad per se. That's an exaggeration a bit.

I will concede that minority ethnic groups do get the very short end of the stick in nations like China, such as Tibetans and Uyghurs, religious minority groups etc.

But can't I say the same thing about good old USA?
Ever heard what the US Govt did and still do to the Native Americans or groups like the Amish? Same thing like China logistically and tactically.

I am sorry that you may not want to believe this, but you are simply clinging onto absolute generalities and are not realizing the complexity of the ongoing situation and that there are always exceptions and shades of differentiation.

Reality is a lot more like the Twilight Zone than you may wish it to be, but I'm afraid it is.

Also, check out some links in this ATS thread : a mini-compilation of the cold hard facts

I once saw some rookie female cop bash an 70-80yr old grandma's head into the pavement over something really stupid and trivial like saying "don't touch me". That grandma had blood pouring out the back of her head as she lay there motionless.

And you think China or Russia have a monopoly on Tyranny?

Right and all of their names are?

You may name a few but you can't name them all.

Therefore by default of semantic definition of the word, they are anonymous currently.

There is something weird I made a facebook group "occupy victoria" and all of a sudden a day or two later this "event" gets arranged and gets a huge following and has a complete agenda and wants us to protest in a spot where we'd be easily kettled and not highly visible to the rest of victoria, we should be occupying parliament hill not city hall, city hall shares the least burden of responsibility in this mess. It's the state/province and the feds and the banks. Why are we not protesting in the huge open lawn, that is visible from pretty much half of the city? Damn right I'm going to this meeting, some highly organized group is underneath it all and these organizers all uvic students who none of the typical activists around here have heard much of anything about. My guess is, green peace is helping with their expertise and members. We have to be EXTREMELY careful that this doesn't turn out like an arab spring where we oust the leader and get an even bigger puppet planted in running the show.

Why do people think Anonymous is an organization?

It's a cover, it's a joke, from 4chan, a lot of sickos out there know kids will take the flak if they use "Anonymous" in this way. That's all it is, a tool for trolls. There is no organization.

While I agree that it would be amazing if that would happen, right now the movement is focused on the problems in America.
I'm not saying there aren't problems in China & elsewhere, there most certainly are.

But it's ignorant to claim there's nothing to be fixed in America. There's a lot that needs fixing, and that is the point of this movement as of right now. We'll start there, then move on to those bigger problems we have around the world.

We can't try & fix problems elsewhere without first fixing our own. It makes us hypocrites.

No anonymous doesn't have to be an organization. Although if this movement does get co-opted by some organization you won't have anybody but yourselves to blame for the result. You don't even know the people pulling the strings -- the intelligence community right now is trying to co-opt your movement, they are trying to get you all to agree to closed in places to gather so you can easily be kettled and get your skull cracked by the cops. Have a look at the location for occupy victoria, the cops may as well have picked the spot for us.
