You beat me to it. Thank you for helping to clear this mess up. You may note a certain degree of hostility in my description of Anonymous, but I assure you it's got more to do with individual anons than all anons. Anonymous is undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with when enough anons are working towards the same goal, I just don't find certain activities commonly engaged in by certain anons to be entirely lulzy.

Anon is weird to me. A lot of the time they are just douchebag hackers who will completely end you. Other times they are hacker activist who are fighting for the freedom of the internet. At least we know that if they do something to the interwebz, Anon will not lay down.

At any rate, this is all very dramatic. Its like something out of a movie.

It's almost like this guy is trying to take credit for the Wall Street Occupation as well.

I really think that occupyManchester needs some support.

I may just pop up after with a few supplies. Having kids really puts the brakes on activism.

I do not believe that Anonymous is 'just' CIA with nefarious purpose, if people allow the internet to be shut down they are far too gone to be helped.

The aim of anonymous is honorable, because regardless of the disinfo, we all have the opportunity to be a part of the movement, the more of us who do not get involved, the more chance that things will go awry of the aim.

My advice, become anonymous yourself, you know what your aims are, get others involved who share your aims. That is what anon is.

The govs have shot themselves in the foot if they wanted to end internet freedom or suppress peaceful protest. The world is watching and the Arab spring ensured that western govs can not and will not fight freedom.

It's beautiful really, if we demand the dissolution of gov or a new head of state we either get it or western govs become a bigger laughing stock to our global community than they already are!

If this ends up ushering in a world government you can bet your a£$ it's the last thing tptb want. For Christians will eventually recognise that tptb wrote the stories/prophecies in the first place to guard against a NWO.

You see that smirk on the face of the leaders who use the phrase New World Order? That is because they know that you are still falling for the same old trick. They are laughing at us for fighting against the one thing they promote yet the last thing they want!!!

It's goshdarned GENIUS!!!!!!

Anon, if you see this, please add words to the bottom of your videos. The music was a bit too loud and it was hard to understand (at least for me) what exactly was being said. Plus, we don't want to alienate the people who have actual hearing problems or are deaf.

We don't even know who THEY are. Could be CIA trying to hack the planet so they can have a reason to take the internet from us and then blame us for it because Anonymous is using it as a terrorist weapon against the America Gov't. I think it's CIA just like Facebook, the "profile yourself so we don't have to do it illegally" approach.

.... can someone explain precisely what is going to happen if anon succeed in taking over America? ANYONE!!!!?

I didn't think this was about Anon taking over anything. My impression is that it is about the citizens around the world taking back their governments from the business elite who currently run the show.

Scary yes, but only because, can we be trusted to run things?

And here, if you look to the left and right ladies and gentlemen, we have the rabbles of the Anonymous Cult. Look upon them wretchedly and with much scorn.

By how you have all been duped by this pitiful Anonymous nonsense. Just another dumb hoax is all I can think of. Those responsible should be sent to prision for being such an embarrassment.

The fact of human nature is that we love a cause.

Every once in a while a good one comes along; usually because of some major unjustice, and it does take a big one, that gets people riled up and involved.

This just might be it. History has shown us again and again that once such a thing gets momentum it has the power to roll over the biggest evil -- but not without a fight.

I sincerely hope that the time for action has finally come, but that all those internment camps are left empty. In other words that this will transpire peacefully.

Anon lol I believe what I have experienced in my working life that has consisted within government domain, they are always one step ahead, so always in control. IF sudden violence was to flare up across the globe and create complete social breakdown, I'd then think alternatively, but even then, I think they would be very much aware. Anything that is controlled and organised, be very wary of.

To those who are saying that Anon is a CIA operation designed to initiate the "kill switch" for the Internet.
Really? It's not. You want to know why?
Think about who it would hurt the most if the Internet were to go down.
The banks and the government.

Most monetary transactions are performed through electronic transfers. People's pay checks, Social Security checks, stock market revenue, bill payments, wire transfers, etc.
Sure, the little guy would be hurt if the Internet went down and couldn't get access to his/her account and finances, but the Big Guys couldn't either. Who do the Big Guys care about? Themselves. They are scared of the kill switch more than the little guy. While the little guy is missing out on getting a few thousand electronically deposited every month, the Big Guy is missing out on getting a few million every month.

If the Internet weren't accessible, we would see the opposite of the Trickle Down theory.
If the little guy can't pay his bills, the utility companies don't get paid.
If small businesses can't pay their bills, the utility companies don't get paid.
If the utility companies don't get paid, the government can't collect on all the taxes that they place upon these services.

Just consider for a moment how many people and companies use an electronic device to pay tolls. If these couldn't be loaded, the states wouldn't be getting their toll money either. Once the accounts were empty and couldn't be loaded electronically, millions of people would be sailing through toll booths for free. Do you really think they can fine everyone, everyday for as long as the Internet was down?

I could go on and on about how the government and banks would be more affected by the Internet kill switch, but I think you get the point.

The government would be cutting its nose off despite its face if Anon were being used to shut down the Internet. At least in my mind. Sure it would suck to not be able to go online, but knowing that it was really hurting the Big Guys, makes me smile.

Besides, what did Obama say about tightening our belts and cutting back? We all have to feel the pain.
Well, as far as I've seen, only the little guys have had to make sacrifices and it's about time the ones at the top felt the pain, too.

I get what your saying I generally feel that way too, but then at the same time it's like, everyone has been sitting around for years waiting for something to happen wishing someone would get the ball rolling, organize and motivate the people, so that we could all unite against our oppressors. Then when it finally happens we criticize them and remain doing nothing?

I don't know, I don't know... But it seems to me we should be out protesting already regardless of whether or not Anonymous says to. We should take advantage of the situation since we've been waiting for this day for a long time already, we knew it would eventually come as a result of the broken corrupt system, why keep postponing something that's long overdue anyway.

Even if Anonymous has alterior/bad motives they don't control us, and there's a lot of us. Even if they just want to bring down the system purely to cause chaos and destruction so what? The system is already causing chaos and destruction all by itself and needs to be gotten rid of anyway.

I'm afraid if all these people want to take control, there will be no such thing as peace. This is why I do not support any of these so called liberal movements. Each year I'm down in pocket, but I think what would be the alternative. Do you think government will step aside, peacefully? No. Do I then advocate violence? No. It is for the simple reason that I feel we would be WORSE off should any of these so called liberal movements ever took over the running of any country. We, the workers and working families throughout the planet, are being ripped off to the point where working becomes almost pointless. In the UK, it is dreadful, you are no better off working than sitting at home all day in a council house. Yet still, the liberal "thinking" groups and individuals claim that the hard done by are the people who don't work, the "poor". The only poor in this country are the men and women who work 50 hours a week to keep a roof over their head. These people simply want to believe that socialism works, it does, if everyone works together, it doesn't if you want to take more money off of the workers and give it to the shirkers!
We're not in a great position at present, but I think the alternative will get us to the end quicker! Is that a good thing, who knows? Here in the UK, it would be a bad thing. At least you Americans can arm yourselves and defend your families against gangs roaming the streets and breaking in to your homes when the country implodes!

It is wrong in my opinion to assume that everyone can be led by the nose by some group; even if the majority do seem to be "sheeple". For a mass movement to take place there has to be some overriding truth that the individual people can actually relate to.

Being sick and tired of being used and taken advantage of is something most of us can relate to. The above poster sees the slackers on dole being the users. He is not wrong, but it should be obvious that the biggest users are the megga corps and the people who run them. Those of us who work know the futility of trying to get ahead honestly. Corruption and vice seem built into the system; so that the honest guy is always the loser.

Most of us would like to believe in the possibility of a better world. It won't come without demanding it. I am not sure how much more the average working man can take. The time has come to fight for something better. We don't need to be swindled, swayed, tricked or brainwashed into believing change is needed. It is painfully obvious.

These protests seem like the smouldering fire that is ready to ignite. Ironic that it started in the middle east and may finish in the west. Finally it is here.

Although I am in Canada and things are not quite as bad as elsewhere, we are all tied into a global fiasco that needs to be dismantled and fixed now; not later!.

It's not to shut down the Internet, it's to change the Internet, so as we can no longer be anonymous when we write messages like we are now.

Here's Jay Rockefeller trying to get some control over the Internet. If we listen to the words of the Elite we can learn how they see things

You may be right and thanks for adding that video.

I was responding to all the people who were stating that Anon was CIA in order to get the Internet shut down.

Whether it's shut down or I have to post my thoughts under my real name is of no consequence to me. I will exercise my right to free speech on the Internet or in the street.

Besides, Facebook has done wonders to get people to post their real names and faces. What's the difference if we all have to? I'll remain anonymous for as long as I can. I've written to the White House and bank CEOs. They already know who I am and what I stand for. I'm probably already on their watch list anyways. So what if Mr. Jones knows who I am, too?

Hi, I am also in the UK, up north.

I understand your fear of the future for us. My question to you would be if the system does not change where do you think we are heading?

We are aware that our financial difficulties ARE going to get worse, not better, for the foreseeable. We have already had riots and looting, more people are losing jobs, resentment for the 1% is on the increase. A time will come when peaceful protest will no longer be possible, the frustration of the nation will become unstoppable. We need to take these steps now to change the way we view each other and the world. We must realise that we are in this together.

The voice of reason is being heard now, if we do not add to this movement now, in time it will be overtaken by the starving, homeless, jobless masses. There are groups who can organise this cause into a cohesive mechanism for change. It will take education, research these alternative systems and spread the word. Join the group which you can agree with. There is safety in numbers. Can you imagine your community working together?

We can't just bury our heads in the sand and hope it all just goes away. Start preparing for the inevitable now, talk to others about the state of the world as it is and how it could be. Those with money purchase land, set up a eco-village, self-sustainable living. It may seem like you would be spending your money helping others but actually you would be building a new system, without others controlling your life, those who join you would be contributing also and adding to the security of your community.

Just do some research you may find something worth fighting for. You may find the future you want your children to have because if THIS is what my kids have to look forward to then I regret having them, and I love my children with all my heart, this life is .........not living.
