My girlfriend and I went down to Denver today, and saw little groups of protesters around the capitol building. When we got to 16th street, we were lucky enough to see a fairly large march. The police were all smiling, and didn't look bothered by it at all. A couple looked to me like they were considering themselves part of the march.

So, I figured I'd snap a couple pics with my phone to share with y'all. We were with her parents, otherwise I do believe we would've joined them. We had to explain to them what this is all about, and even our emphasis on the importance of what is going on. They're "hip" to the non-MSM news, so it wasn't one of those "you're crazy" things.

So, here you go... pics, it DID happen. "Occupy Wall Street" - Denver

If anyone was there, post your experiences. It didn't look like there were any kinds of trouble with the police, as I said earlier. As a matter of fact, it seemed like a couple of them were almost proud to be escorting the group. By the Capitol, it looked like an officer was talking to one of the small groups that were getting rowdy with their signs, but that was about it. He left smiling, so it didn't seem like more than possibly "Don't wave your signs in the street. Over here is fine, we just don't want any of you getting ran over" type of confrontation.

They are there, you're just crazy.

I just uploaded them, so they may not be showing up yet. I'm a gonna get a coffee and check back in about 15. I uploaded to ATS Media, so I'll just re-link to Imageshack uploads if anything.

I have to check the pics from my girlfriend's camera... they probably turned out better than my cell phone's.

sorry..I can't see your pic either.

It doesn't surprise me that the many cops would want to picket as well..they are just as much victims of the money hungry bankers .

I think many of them are 'truthers" in a more private way, and considering they are some of the first that have to respond to "acts of terrorism" , I'm sure they question many things as well...maybe even more so than the general public.

I remember on the 911 anniversary this year when they showed some film of the memorial on TV , and there were some protestors there, and the cops were very understanding , and kept saying "I know how you feel..understand how you feel, but..you can't do this here... today.."

They seemed like they felt bad for having to tell the guy to stop screaming his protests.. and were really polite about it...I thought. I only saw that one example though... on a major network .

Thanks... I just did the same thing up top. Issues with images or something. I've been surfing other boards, so could've been just user error on my part... I can't keep up with changes here at ATS. Goes too fast, and before we know it we're slammed with some kind of Patriot Act.

So, are other cities getting OWS protest join-ins, or is Denver the first outside of the east coast? I wasn't really surprised... this is just the way we are around here, it seems. Part of what I love about Colorado, there's a lot of people who care.

Good pictures...it looks as though...they are purposely surrounding the buildings......making a circle on every side. I am glad to hear that the protest is peaceful too.

Here's the corrected link for "Occupy Denver" www.occupytogether.org...

Also, I think the Occupy Together site deserves a link to main page. I didn't know it existed, nice way to keep up.

That's awesome. I'm actually pretty stoked to see the People coming out and getting involved. There are 'occupations' in pretty much every large city. Including several large demonstrations around the world. Chicago got a lot of attention, Boston said they had 3000 yesterday. (can't confirm) Just look around facebook for occupations. My state has 3 or 4. Oklahoma City, OSU, OU, and Tulsa. In the first meeting yesterday at Tulsa, there were over 50 people. I heard OKC had around 130. This is definitely growing.

Also, the Global Revolution Live Stream had over 20,000 viewers watching yesterday as the NYPD led them onto Brooklyn Bridge and then started arresting. They eventually arrested around 700 people!! Documents were released that prove JP Morgan gave the NYPD $4.6 million dollars. I find it interesting that the cops are being aggressive, using entrapment and violating the Constitution to protect these bankers. More and more occupations need to pop up. It's international but there is no reason all 310 million Americans aren't on the streets. We're all a part of the 99%.

Why are you wanting 310 million Americans on the street? ..so there can be more than 700 arrests ?..maybe a few 100 deaths..along with rioting , looting ,and all the other crazy stuff that can go along with a protest that size?

Sounds like someone wanting to stir trouble,so that we can have some real bloodshed, and perhaps , a very good reason for martial law...

I really fail to see how 310 million protestors will actually change the attitude of those who are in charge of the money system..

They would just laugh, and record the chaos , to watch with mockery, and of course glee when it gets bloody and chaotic.

Then they would all clap, as martial law would be put into effect.

Be very wary of some who push for mass protests...I think they have an agenda..personally.
