There is a much simpler answer. Our debt in society is a direct result of taking reward that produces debt. People have always had the power to turn this negative tide of debt. Simply give to others and debt is walked back to reward. Suffer work for others and debt is eliminated. Right now, most people take from life. Until this problem is solved, only suffering and debt can be created. When people choose suffering as the point to living, then reward follows this work as a byproduct. Government policies are insignificant to the choices of the people to utilize suffering for what it is.

When people take, suffering follows. Drink and you become a drunk. Smoke and you get cancer. Our nation has cancer from taking reward that was not earned. Flip this around and we start with suffering first. When we work for an education, reward follows for us and our families. Suffer a car payment and you get a car to save time getting to work and back. Suffering work always leads to reward.

Time to go to work. That's it. The answer is as simple as this. Love others before loving yourself with reward that is not earned. The Golden Rule of God was the answer all along.

Crazy Idea. Probably the best. Although highly fictitious and highly unlikely. Would TPTB (whomever they are) crumble if every worker quit their job in the western world? Or even some. Say all the United States workers quit for about 2-5 weeks.

With zero production and a halt on all product shipping, social networks down (phone/internet) This would cause panic among those in the united states government obviously, but I wonder if halting the world by this means would create a potential defeat to TPTB (bankers/etc).

I ask this question in a hypothetical sense.

Here is a trailer that may open your mind

Based on a true story

Considering a majority of TPTB's workforce is compiled of foreign labor, quitting your “western” job would do little to no good. I believe it would be more prudent to buy from small independent companies as a means of removing income from their collective wallets. That way, those of us who do work for the top 2% will be removing moving money with each paycheck we receive, whilst also cutting them by not giving the money right back.
You know, that’s why they have company discounts; it’s the whole “gave my soul to the company store” song and dance. You work for two weeks at Wal-mart then receive your paycheck go right back into Wal-Mart and buy your groceries/clothes/toiletries. Even with your “discount”, they’re still making a decent profit off of you, getting something like 30% cash back on every paycheck they write. Not a bad little scam.

Really? You actually feel you could not survive w/o money? Paper that only has value we give it, and created out of thin air as well... I suggest you buy a survival guide because TScHTF any day. Try growing some food, building shelter, and going back to your roots... Haven't you ever gone camping, fishing or just spent time outdoors? Not to mention that you would not be the only one and might just find out how unselfish people can be during a crisis. When people pull together and share responsibilities goals are much easier to achieve.

[color=limegreen]The ONLY way to damage TPTB:

1. General worldwide strike ... one week would do the trick ... timing is everything.

although we saw massive price decreases a few years ago with the financial "crisis",

in effect, that was similar to a general strike, but in reverse ... the "money" went on strike.
(people stopped spending money in panic mode big time)

prices in general are over inflated by 2x and wages in general are about half of what they're worth.

cut prices in half, and you will be back to a "normal" lifestyle vs. wages.

One big fish gets eaten alive by 1 million small fish ... simple as that.

[color=tan]ETA:
ALL the "philosophies" and "road scholar" wisdom means nothing ... THEY already know all about THAT !

Then they would just buy up the organic fields and either destroy them, find other ways to put them out of business or just control organic as well. I think everyone should know by now if they see an advantage somewhere then they will play both sides until one is a winner. Then use it to their advantage.

I think you mean we should all go on strike? Don't worry, there will be plenty of strikes ahead in our countries over the coming year!

A more feasible way to make a statement would be if everyone changed their dependents to 10 on their W-4 form. This would choke the flow of cash to the government until tax time. This would of course only be a nationwide statement, the government would probably use it as a excuse to borrow more money.

For every worker who quit...there would be 100 more in line right behind (him or her) to take the job over...and TPTB...know it.

They would start issuing H1B work visas like Cracker Jacks issues prizes in a box of caramel corn. India would be emptied out like dumping water from a drinking glass.

Yes, I garden and fish and camp, but I also have a family. Do you have children? If so, how many?

If it came right down to it, I would survive, because I had to. But the OPs premise is complete destruction of society as we know it, that normally doesn't work out too well for the everyman.

Way to derail a idea and twist it to your own beliefs.

Hunter/gathers survived so can we, we are obviously more evolved than them, so I figured we would be better off

hunter gatheres know how to protect that which they hunt and grow.

You get a bunch of lazy supermarket fed slobs and thrust them into this situation, you'll see nothing but rape of the land.

bad idea...

the only good thing that would come from it is the population would reduce en masse, leaving those who actually are as smart as the hunter gatherer tribes, and then perhaps it'd work.

as it is... you're asking for the impossible. Spoon fed people who cannot go an hour without a ciggy.. not a chance.

I would be with you, however. But it's just never going to happen. the fact humans cannot even live coherently in a society that spoon feeds them everything and more, says it all.

Many will presume that 'DOWN TOOLS' would be a waste of time. No many would do so. And thus economic activities will continue on, and those whom down their tools would lose their jobs.

Nothing is futher than the truth. One person dowing tool of course will make little impact, but if thousands, espacially over critical societal jobs, TPTB will go apesh*t.

This is no fantasy. It is only reality. Just look at what happened when iceland's volcano erupted. All flights were stopped and it hurt economies around the world for a period of time. And that's only a natural event and affecting only Iceland and flights out.

Suppose it were to happen manmade all over the world when workers down their tools, espacially just alone in electrical supply - workers stop work, barricades set up, wires cut, etc, let alone the rest of the economy in manufacturing, services, transport, etc? Every activity will HALT.

Some say the rich can live off their savings and wealth. No doubt they will have food hoarded or some money avaliable, but with electronics outage, it wont last them long, even their security fences at home. Furthermore, they will weep buckets if their casino stock market stops even for a few days, or the machines or hotels stop production even for a few hours. It would be billions lost to them, billions that their greed corrupted mind will never allow them to rest, but think of ways out, and the ONLY solution is to listen to the masses.

With electrical supply out, even the masses will have difficulties, but then, mankind had survived for centuries without electricity. Mankind do have their means and nature abounds with food, as it had always, fed humanity for centuries.

Some worry about critical services such as medical attention in hospitals. But there is no worry as hospitals come with electrical generators of their own, something not many corporations have nor the security to protect it.

Furthermore, DOWN TOOLS will not be forever, but only a temporary stoppage time to make TPTB sit up and listen for once.

It can be done. Alone, we are powerless, but when combined together with our families and social networks, through reaching out, discussing, debating and on free will come out with actions to correct the course of mankinds direction and destiny, we make up humanity and will be a superpower that the minority TPTB can never match. Change for the progress and evolution of humankind is possible, and it begins with awareness in you and me on truths and realities.

I speak of only one of the ways to DOWN TOOLS. There are several more other peaceful ways. And that day will be comming soon, worldwide, IF TPTB still stubbornly refuses to listen and stop their deprediations against mankind....

Alone, as a human being on an island cut off from anything and anyone... survival skills kick and and you can only survive so long. But at least no one is telling you want to do...

Together, as a human race on a much bigger island with resources and sources and supplies a plenty... social organization is needed and you can only be unorganized so long. But at least more heads are better than just one...

If you really wanted to stick it to the powers that be, you don't need to quit your job. You just need to get all tax paying citizens to stop paying taxes.

Just for one year. Thats almost 2.5 trillion dollars which goes to paying the salaries of politicians and government employees. Paying for multi-billion dollar defense contracts. Paying for big business bailouts. Paying for Welfare. Paying for absolutely everything other than the national deficit.

Without that income, the government would shut down overnight. No more congress. No more senate. Nothing.

America is a dog eat dog society, there will be no mass work stoppage.

They've conditioned us to turn on each other and treat each other like trash. Where one person will quit their job in protest, you'll have shills and finks lining up to take his job.

The only way a work stoppage occurs is if the SHTF.

Yeah pretty much. TSHTF pretty much meaning armageddon, the Last Days, which they are pretty much already here, just people havent started dying en masse yet.

I lol'd at this statement. It's true too! I can see it happening just like that. Borders are already open, mexicano's come on in! They will give the mexicans the jobs we won't do and the mexicans will happily torpedo us in the ass with gusto.

It'd cause panic amongst the world governments but it would also panic and anger those who wish to continue working to earn money they need to feed their families, pay bills, keep a roof over their heads. Plus it would cause even more economic collapse.

Remember when the British Airways cabin crew went on strike for months because they weren't getting paid more money they thought they deserved plus extra holidays and most of Britain hated them with BA also losing billions in business that usually goes straight into the nation's economy?

Yeah, times that by a thousand and that's what will happen if everyone just stopped working.

Already done. I quit working a "job" 4 years ago when I was laid off and my job went to China. Your turn.
