Iran "totally rejects" Palestine U.N. statehood bid

Iran's supreme leader rejected the Palestinians' U.N. statehood bid on Saturday, saying any deal that accepted the existence of Israel would leave a "cancerous tumor" forever threatening the security of the Middle East.

WOW! Strong words and a Strong rebuke for a Palestinian State - from Iran?

hmm......

Not surprising at all. A significant faction of Palestinians echo those sentiments, as do the leaders of other Islamic countries in the region. It is a mentality that reinforces the need for Israel to be vigilent in ensuring the security of it's people.

The way they see it the land that was used to create Israel was stolen from Palestine. And it was. What did Palestine receive for the land that was used for Israel?

Can we be sure, that what he said was translated correctly, especially by western news media (incl. Al Jazeera), because they are notorious unreliable, when it comes to translation of speeches from Iranian leaders.

Well...:
What did the Israelites get for the very land in question, when the Assyrians and Babylonians stole it from them?

Technically speaking, the Israelites "stole" the "Land of Canaan" from the Egyptians!

Perhaps that whole region should be returned to Egypt!

He said it. The Muslim world agrees, too. Any deals that would allow "Palestine" stand on its own two feet, thus rendering them no longer to be pitied, will be rejected, as every other one has for the last 50 years.

actually... if I'm correct in my history, the Palestinians were originally one of Israel's main arch enemies, AKA the Phillistines... Known to have killed many of Ancient Israel's heros, even warring with King David, whom it was who slew the chief Palestinian... Goliath.

The war with them and Israel never suprised me.

Abraham's son Ishmael was promised to become a mighty nation, along with Isaac, Yet Gabriel warned that Isaac's seed and Ishmael's seed would war against the other til the conclusion of all matters...

Gabriel's message proved true... As it still show's today.

The Philistines were their enemies. But they were swallowed by the Babylonian empire in around 750 B.C. But the main reason today's "Palestinians" aren't related in any possible way to the Philistines is because the Philistines were from southern Greece. Today's "Palestinians" are primarily of Arab and Jordanian descent. The term "Palestinian" was created as a political tool to give them some sort of credibility to ownership of the land.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s ideological patron Ayatollah Mesbah-Yazdi says of him: “I am more than 90% certain that he has been bewitched”. He attributes this dark work to Ahmadinejad’s former chief-of-staff and closest aide Esfandiar-Rahim Mashaei, whom he accuses of engaging "deviants, devils and evil spirits” to cast a spell over Iran’s president. www.opendemocracy.net...

claims that he is to personally prepare the world for the coming Mahdi. In order to save the world, it must be in a state of chaos and subjugation. Ahmadinejad claims he was “directed by Allah to pave the way for the glorious appearance of the Mahdi”. This apocalyptic directive includes some very scary proclamations.

The 12th Imam: Why Is This Especially Important Now?
While Christians look for Jesus’ 2nd coming, the Jews await the Messiah and Muslims await the 12th Imam. However, of the three, Allah’s designated Mahdi is the only one who demands a violent path to conquer the world. Mr. Ahmadinejad, and his cabinet, say they have a ‘signed contract’ with al Mahdi in which they pledge themselves to his work. What does this work involve? In light of concerns over Iran’s nuclear capabilities, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has reportedly stated Israel should be wiped off the map. He spoke to the United Nations in September ’05. During that speech he claims to have been in an aura of light and felt a change in the atmosphere during which time no one present could blink their eyes. Iran’s PM is also said to have spoken in apocalyptic terms and seems to relish conflict with the West whom he calls the Great Satan. This is while he proclaims he must prepare the world for the coming Mahdi by way of a world totally under Muslim control. He is working hard to bring about the world-wide horrors that must be in place for their al Mahdi to bring peace.

This notion and goal, along with a violent hatred of infidels, America and Israel reminds us of Biblical prophecies of the coming anti-Christ and the pledges of millions to a deceiving False Messiah who will claim to bring peace. Could this 12th Imam Mahdi and his servant Ahmadinejad spark the last days of the coming true Savior?"

This is best deal they had from anyone. Turkish empire was better? British empire was better? Jordan/Egypt/Syria were better?
And i would like you to go to Google Earth and look for Ramallah. Israel rationing food, what a joke. How about denying ignorance? Even in Gaza it is not true. As for the West Bank... You are poisoned with propaganda, educate yourself.

If Israel was so important to the Jews don't you think that sometime within the last 2000 years they could have gotten off their lazy a@@es and fought to reclaim it? Going by your logic we should find a descendent of neanderthal man and give the earth back to them.

None taken, but my Google skills can't find the speech. I have an article from Kuwait News Agency that says the same thing:

Any plan to divide Palestine would be rejected

Also, if you Google "ayatollah ali khamenei reject", you'll get other articles saying the same thing. Also Google "ayatollah ali khamenei 5th International Conference on the Palestinian Intifada" and you'll get even more articles.

Have at it, because I hate doing lazy people's research for them, but this a rare special case.

Iran's supreme leader is not always on the same page as Ahmadenijad, he is in support of Palestine however there is really not much in the way of what Palestine is doing. The UN can not convince the U.S. or Israel to recognize Palestine as a state, seeing as how the U.S. controls the UN through vetoes, this is merely to allow Palestine into the UN, which in itself is not going to help much.

"any deal that accepted the existence of Israel" this is why hes against it not because he does not support the Palestinians but because it will go against his stance that Israel does not even exist.

That wasn't my logic, it was yours! I only gave you a short history lesson, and compared it to your claim of land being stolen from the Palestinians.

Way back in 1967 the Israelis got "off their lazy a@@es and fought to reclaim it". They retook the "Land of Canaan", in it's entirety, in only six days! Why aren't you satisfied with that? They did exactly what you just said they should do!

Using your NEW logic, it seems they have a legitimate claim to not only Israel, but to the "West Bank", and the "Gaza Strip" as well!

It has been said many times in various ways but...

Israel is the common thief who steals $100 bucks from an innocent man offers to give back about $20 in the form of a check that the innocent man is sure will bounce while the thief insists on negotiating the actual amount and the first condition is that the innocent man state that the thief is not a theif.
