Hi All,

Some of you will be aware that i have posted a few threads about dreams. Dreams that are so real i wake up thinking i am still dreaming, or dreams that have been inside dreams? (inception material). An example being where i was dreaming, totally aware i was dreaming and i woke up. I woke up convinced i was actually awake when to my surprise i then woke up in real life. this has only happened once but none-the-less it was extremely profound. I have had other dreams that were extremely lucid in nature, however, last night was the most profound and it has convinced me that dreams are alternate realities that the conciousness enters. The event that occurred was filled with emotion and memory. Let me explain.

I was dreaming that i was with a person who used to be my best friend, we spent alot of our late teens together and early twenties. I ended our friendship because i wasnt keen on teh direction my life was heading. I was 23 years old and all we did was go on nights out and get into debt, so i changed my life overnight. Anyways, back to the dream. This friend appeared in my dream, he was driving a 4x4 Volvo. I was surprised that he was driving this because the "last time i saw him" in a dream, he was driving a 4x4 Jeep Cheroke. I said too him, "what happened to your Jeep"? he said, "oh, dont you remember, i wrote it off"!.

Whilst this dream was occurring, he was making reference to events that unfolded in a previous dream that i have NO recollection of but felt familiar. I knew what he was talking about, but the strangest part was that this dream was a continuing story from a previous dream, as if it were real. The fact that this drem was a succession from another, unremembered dream, made it strange in its own right but the fact that a series of events that i knew nothing about in real life but ws aware of in my dream state had occurred in a "time fashion".

The best way i can describe it is going to sleep on Monday night, dreaming that you put the cooker on, wakening up then going to sleep on the tuesday night and the dream continung but the house had burned down between dreams and my dream continuing from the point of the house being burned down with characters in the dream saying...don't you remember it burning down?

Its like the dream continues when i'm awake and i rejoin it when i go back to sleep.

has anyone else experienced this? As far as dreams go i have experienced many odd and surreal dreams but this one was the strangest, or most impacting of them all.

I have had dreams where I was at work...nothing strange in them but very real feeling, but then I awaken, mentally exhausted and realize...

Crap! I have to go to work!
Those days were always bad days.

I fixed it though when I retired.

This is called dream seeding, and usually you need to be conscious of wanting to continue the dream before you fall asleep. You are doing this somehow, so you dream continues, like watching a movie.

It seems to me that you are curious about your friend changing his life as well, because you mentioned the change in his vehicle, something that surprised you.

If you call this person, to see how he is doing, the dreams will stop.

I pay regular attention to my dreams for a little more than a year now, and what I became aware of is that you can create your own dream, let's say in your dreams you are living in Atlantis and you found the one true love. When you created the dream, just go for it... it is hard to explain... it starts with how you behave, if you want to manifest your dream, it would be beneficial to think about how you behave in Atlantis and how you behave here, and then just start to behave like you would be in Atlantis. You know what I mean?!
In "my" theory eventually other people will join your dream or stumble into it so that it can grow bigger and become visible in our "5 Sense Level of Reality" like David Icke would say! If this is the truth, then it would explain the troubles in our world. If we all are living in a collective dream, then the dream is about getting the most power and the most money possible. As if that wasn't bad enough, there can be only one person, who is the most powerful person on this earth, but everyone wants to be it. And so the wars continue! If we would all start to dream of atlantis, which is a worldwide culture. then this problem would be solved and we wouldn't need money and power anymore....

Well, I hope, what I wrote is understandable, because I'm in some kind of "special mode" right now!
Let's call it "Outta Space Mode!"

But I really think, that I am on to something, so I decided to write an answer here! I am sorry, if my grammar is off a little bit!

Bye

Yep I've had the same experience many times....Though I don't think it means that it's an alternate reality (unless there is an alternate reality where I regularly make love to giant sentient cupcakes that is...yes my dreams are often quite surreal
)

I think that all it means is that our subconscious has the ability to create stories and experiences every bit as ordered and logically cohesive as can our conscious mind when we are awake. Through meditation I've learned a truth I've always suspected.....that my subconscious mind is actually a Hell of a lot smarter and more logical than my conscious mind! LOL!

I had it a few times, that i I had really wild dreams, a bit on the nightmares side. Then realized that it was a dream, followed by other dreams. On waking up i realised this was like in the inception movie.

A nightmare layer of dreams, then switched to another layer, which was still a dream, then waking up, to the "reality layer". It only happenend on special circumstances:

- working a lot, studying in the daytime, working at night. So not enough sleep and a disrupted Day/night schedule.
- in my younger days when i still smoked that green tobacco.

I was fascinated by the experience, because of the several "layers" and this moments of being unsure what was dream, what was reality. Like in the Inception movie.

I guess it was all just in the REM-Phase (Where most dreams happen) between sleep and waking up. And I was shocked by the first dream, so my half awake subconscious told me "relax it's just a dream". Which relaxed me so that i went back to half asleep and started dreaming again.

Anyway the line between sleep and dream is a very interesting field to explore, sad it's so short.

Check this out once i was dreaming, dont remember dream; but i woke up and was damn that was one heck of a dream. idk went about my business for maybe a few minutes and things seemed strange. then to my amazement i woke up again but this time to my bedroom. WOW

so i had 2 wake ups all in the same dream so actually 3 it was very confusing. when i finally woke up for real i was pretty bugged out and was wondering the whole time if i was still dreaming.

now to wake up in a dream to still be in a dream isnt uncommon for me but also not common i get them maybe once a year or so.

my problem is i been having continuing dreams since i was a kid. and its not the same dream i have at least 7-8 dreams that are not the same but they are still continuing dreams.

i grown acustom to em. when they start i recognize them right away while im dreaming but somewhere in the middle i forget its a continuing dream untill i wake up.

Also most of my dreams involve looking for something, be chased something that has been going on since i was a kid or chasing someone.

Over many, many years I have had dreams of being in the same place, on the same mode of craft and with the same people......

The surroundings I am in is very similar to Norway, very cold and icey. I am on a large ship travelling at sea, but every time I go back into my sleep and dream, I am back onboard the ship, but the dream carries on as if I had never left it. Even when I am within the dream I can recall passed dreams of being onboard the ship and what I actually did within those dreams and what members of the crew and passengers I did it with.

This has been going on for well over 15 years, I have no idea where the ship is going and why I am onboard the ship, but even when I am onboard the ship I am also fully aware that I am dreaming...

When you try and think about it from a point of view when awake it seems a great deal more technical than when I am asleep....

I too have had the same type off dreams you are talking about, dreams in dreams and dreams that seem sooooo real. I believe and have witnessed dreams that can fortell your future. I know that sounds weird but just hear me out.
First let me give you a back round info that is important when listening to this dream. For many years me and my father didnt get along so well. He was dissapointed in my job and my decisions i had made in the past. The wernt all bad but they just wernt what he wanted for my life. I would always tell him that one day the job i had would lead into something bigger ( my own restaurant). He and most of my family didnt believe me.
So in my dream that i had everything between me and my father was great, great relationship, he was proud of me for once, i was making more money then him, and strangly enough in the dream i had two vehicles. They were not both necessary for me to have, just more of a luxury. Either way, in the dream my father was clearly happy for me for what i had ocomplished and showed me some love and attention. He proceeded to be really interested in on of my vehicles and asked to borrow it for awhile. I told him no and thats when the dream ended.
Now this dream happened sometime in late 2006 - early 2007. My relationship with him was how i described ( crappy). Two years later in may of 2009 i bought a restaurant. I would not have been able to buy it had i not worked were i did to get the connection and training. My father was then proud of me for once and would always call me ( he would never call prior to this). Some time after i was in the possesion of two cars, they wernt brand new but they were nice ( lexus and bmw). i didnt need both but i bought them anyway. Well soon enough, shortly after purchasing the BMW ( my father was really interested in this one) he asked if he could borrow it for a little while. I thaught he was joking at first but he wasnt. I didnt tell him NO but i kinda just avoided really answering him by saying MAYBE.
I ended up selling the car before he asked me again about it. It wasnt till about 4 months after selling it that i realized how my dream years before had fore told me of this time in my life. it's really weird to think about because it was really accurate.

I had a dream within a dream within a dream within a dream within a dream. Yes, 4 times. The dream was I awoke with a start in the middle of the night. I got out of bed with the urge to look out the window that is on the front door. So I do. I'm walking through the living, through the kitchen and to the door. No lights are on in the house and it is very dark, but there is some light coming in through the living room windows from the streetlights. I get to the door and peer out the window...nothing but blackness. The entire time I am filled with an ominous feeling. Then I wake up. But it repeats itself. Get up, walk thru house, look out window, ominous feeling. It happened 4 times. Each time I "woke up" I really though I had woken up. Man, that was freaky.

I believe my dreams are all fabrications of my mind. In one dream I became an extremely powerful entity and experimented with the Earth and life as we know it. Anyway after messing around with this planet and other things 6 times, I decided to put the universe back the way I remembered it and then I woke up. What was so strange was that I felt stuck in that dream like forever as a bored entity. It wasn't until I dreamed that I was going to be a human with all the same limitations as other humans with only a dream to remind me, that I finally woke up out of that dream. I did a lot of strange things in that dream. I still remember one of the weirdest parts of it was the feeling of being everywhere in the universe at the same time and outside of my body but all together at the same time. It's hard to explain. I don't remember manipulating other alien civilizations as much as ours.

So to sum up this and other posts if my dreams were real, it's possible you are all living in a dream I created because I'm really a bored superpowerful entity with nothing better to do so I made myself human to live among you. I could have given myself some powers but then I would stand out and not live an ordinary life.

If my dreams are real, I've made contact with one sort of like reptilian species in our galaxy, actually I dreamed it contacted me when I was half asleep, half awake. They are located about 37,000 light years away and their technology is a lot more advanced than ours. They are peaceful.

If my dreams are real I can journey into other creatures bodies on this planet and other star systems and wake up who knows where. I once woke up and saw that I was on a planet apparently with a red star because the light outside was glowing red everywhere.

If my dreams are real, I can travel into parallel universes and in different times. I've seen dinosaurs in some of my dreams.

Using logic, my dreams are obviously not real. If they were and I wake up, life might get interesting.

A lot of times when I wake up, I know I had a dream, but I can't remember anything about it. And when I do remember them, they just confuse me. I mean they make no sense whatsoever. But a few nights ago, I had a dream about this girl who I guess I kinda have a crush on but I don't know her that well. In the dream, she was supposed to give me a ride home from work (we don't work together in real life), I don't even remember if she actually showed up in my dream or if I woke up before that. But anyways, the next morning I heard some loud music outside and the dog started barking, so I looked outside and.......there was her car (and her boyfriend, of course lol), they were talking to one of my neighbors. Could have been a coincidence I suppose, but it totally blew my mind. I have a dream about this girl and then the next morning she is outside my house. I still just shake my head, it's so freakin strange.

Those dreams can be troubling and exhausting. I don't like the ones where it's a repeat, I just know it but
still, I cannot grasp the meaning if there is one.
Perhaps you even enjoy being in the dream state who knows..maybe that is why they are so complicated
and seem so real. I suppose on one level they are real as they are part of your individual thinking process or
in other words your view of the world.
We lost a 30 year old a while back. All his friends and family were really shook up. Odd thing is ..his best
friend had a dream that another guy he knew whom he KNEW was deceased came knocking on his door
..In the dream he did not have to wonder why his dead friend had come calling..his deceased friend told
him he had to go pick up the dreamers live best friend in his new ride..Only a short time later did he learn
that his best friend had suddenly died..Did his deceased friend actually come to him in a dream to let him
know he was about to pick up his best friend and escort him to the other side? Was it only the minds symbolism
letting him know something was coming or was it indeed another reality?

Your dreams are operating like an MMO in the time sense, that's crazy. As far as it being real, that's very subjective. Of course dreams are "real" in the same sense a painting it real. A painting of a mountain is a real painting of a mountain but is it a mountain? The jeep in your dream is a real jeep in a dream but is it a real jeep?

My simple answer to this is: Observing more confirmations for one reality does not make another reality less real. What I mean by that is your dream realities are very real when not compared to your conscious realities. If all we had were our dreams, we wouldn't even be having this dialog as it would be the most consistent example of reality.

What you have stumbled upon is another example of dreams mimicking time and continuity which validates them as a real experience so... yeah, you did sort of stumble on some proof of the reality of dreams.

Dreams are the sensory amalgam of experience. Let's start from day one. There is not much experience to be downloaded into long term memory as an infant. But as days pass, the brain starts to collect memories and the dream process is just the mind taking the recent days experience and trying to match it with already (chemically/physiologically established) neuronal connections.

The dream process is really just a physiological mish mash of associated experience.

Try an experiment. When you wake from a dream, take a major part of that dream sequence and try and recall the day prior(s) to find a real world association for that sequence.

Example...I am staying with friends in a new environment and I was browsing their netflix online...which led me to encounter a Forever Young option (I can't stand Mel Gibson). That night, I dreamt of Mel Gibson being interviewed by a Radio Station because his show called "Reggie Black" was canceled...there is no real show of that nature because it was a dream...but the damn thing seemed incredibly real...

Simple things can lead to vivid dreams and we have to realize that day to day our conscious life is very closely intertwined with our subconscious...

OP, I've had dreams in which I had prior knowledge and memories of events that have never occurred in my life. In the conversations and actions I and others encounter in my dream, things have made sense because of those pre-existing tidbits of knowledge and memories. It's almost as if upon waking and recalling segments of the dream, your mind is trying to piece together things using YOUR memories and knowledge. Of course this doesn't work out. You seemingly weren't experiencing the dream as you but as the "randomly generated" you that your mind created to experience the dream. Sometimes this "generated" knowledge and memories have come from other dreams I've had. Sometimes it's pulled out of thin air.

For most of my life I've had a recurring dream that I can levitate. I can move at high speeds just inches above the ground. It's difficult to control. I can sometimes fly far above the ground. I have trouble coming back down though. In every dream like this the only common element among them is that I have this ability. Having multiple dreams with the ability has also had an interesting affect: I'm getting better at it.

I've also had dreams where I've created new memories within the dream, then drew upon them. While logical, the implementation of drawing upon this memory was more supernatural in nature.

It began with my waking up to see a large portion of my front yard on fire. Soon after there was the sound of a car approaching, honking loudly then crashing head on into an oncoming car right on my street just beyond the point of the burning grass. I ran out there to see if I could help. Major injuries, an ambulance shows up with a firetruck to deal with my lawn.

Then I wake up. I walk over to the window and look at the grass. It's normal looking. Then I see a bit of smoke, and a small fire starts to burn. An incredible sense of dread and foreboding comes over me while I begin to hear an oncoming car.

Then I wake up.

I agree. Those are the worst.

A succubus perhaps?
I'm always drained after those days and will sleep 12 hours afterwards.

Starred this because its very true, but how do we know they actually aren;t "the real point in existence?" We say that dreams are mimics of our "real loe", but how do we know the dreams arent actually the real "reality?". This dream was as if it was continuing whilst i was awake and i rejoined it at a laer part, but someohow i should have known what was occurring in the dream whilst i was awake.
