Mercury looks really big and bright to me too from your pictures, OP, and yet it's supposed to be so tiny. It also looks like a really wierd orbit - kind of sailing by somewhat high in the hinterland. I suppose it could be the mercurial Elenin but unless you know someone who knows someone we can't be sure. The other mercury transit photo looks like a post-it-dot on someone's finger kind of magnified and poorly lit. I guess more will be revealed? I'm out of here..."tomorrow is another day."
