Hells Angels Chapter President Killed in Nevada Shootout

Hells Angels boss, Jeffrey “Jethro” Pettigrew, was killed in a shootout by a rival gang which prompts the cancellation of the city’s part in an annual multi-city motorcycle festival on Saturday and neighboring Reno increased police patrol amid fears of retaliation. The 51-year-old head of the motorcycle gang’s San Jose chapter, was killed late Friday in a shootout that sent hotel guests and gamblers diving under tables at John Ascuaga’s Nugget hotel-casino, police said. Two members of the Vagos gang also were wounded

I didn't know hell's angel still operated. But I did read Hunter S. Thompson's book on hell's angels, he basically says the cops overexaggerated the carnage the HA's brought into town. I wouldn't be surprised if they gunned this guy themselves.

That sounds more the likely. If what this is saying, is the shootout was between the Vagos and the H. A.s?
Because the Vagos, oops. I mean the H. A.s and the Vagos arn't rivals. They're related from my understanding.

I live in Nor Cal, and heard about this a few days ago. I was riding my motorcycle to Sacramento and back on Saturday and saw hundreds of "bikers" heading south from Reno (I-80). Also Sunday, I was in Reno to see Hank III in concert, very few biker types around, rare for any weekend. The first thing I thought of was the stereo-typical 70s biker gang, not today's "bikers" that are of the "mid-life crisis/weekend warrior type" It's sad to see a true American event marred by the actions of a select few. I mean come on, territorial disputes? what grade are we in? Respect vs Reputation? If they wanna rumble like men, take it outside.

SnF for the story OP even tho you didn't fill your text guidelines. This is worth hearing about I know a number of Vagos here in So. Cal. and it does appear to be between the two mentioned. I wouldn't say this puts the entire gangs at war. But as far as what ever two chapters involved ? It isn't anything good for either one of them. It's completely up in the air as to what will happen next. I know one thing for sure. I wouldn't want to be one of the Vagos involved in this. Depending on who they are in the club to some extent. I would n't give a bucket of crap for their lives right now.

This is bad bad news, The Vagos gunned down the San Francisco President recently as well. I didn't read the link because I read this elsewhere but from what I understand the H.A's shot first and there was a drive by immediately afterwards. This is gonna get real bad real quick!! I mean look what happened to the Gypsy Jokers, Mongols, and many others that had beef with H.A...

Woe ! I didn't know about the Francisco "P". That changes a few things in my mind. I know what I said about them being, well related is definetly not the right word. More like associated, in San Berdo ? So this is showing signs of spreading and the members will all be tight lipped about it. Good to know. Thanks.

sorry for the short text at the end I was in the middle of posting and had to run off right quickly so ill post a lil more here. It appears that the two clubs were in the same casino a fistfight broke out one of the HAs went down and came up with a gun and shooting started turns out two Vagos get wounded and the San Jo HA president ends up dead.

I dont know what the events leading up to it was but I can agree regardless of what happens I would not want to be the Vagos right about now. This makes the second HA chapter president that has been killed by the Vagos in a pretty short amount of time so the Angels will be looking for revenge double time now.
