It should be noted by everyone reading this thread that the thread itself and some that have spoken up in it's defense are clearly "race baiting" and promoting "class warfare." Although it's subtle, it's definitely there and serves many purposes. Think about it.
No, spell it out in detail if people are not in the habit of thinking about a specific set of principles, then they won't be able to get all the points that are therein. Habits prevent rationalization.

There would have been a better way to introduce these 2 thoughts to each other anyway. Philadelphia has been a hellish place when it comes to race relations most, if not all of my life. But if this had been a proof of escalation thread, directly tied to specific speeches, as far as time is concerned, then we might have something to talk about, instead of fussing about the race card in either direction.

How long are the bankers going to make us wait before
the Black Communities in the North are going to be
allowed to have police they can rely on and trust?

Because these bumper crops of antiauthoritarianism
are getting out of hand.

Yes a gun would have taken care of the issue and thats what will happen if something like this happens at my house. I'm white and live in the hood and they hate me because I'm there.

That's the fact, jack. Reminds me of my uncle who used to live in the ghetto area of a large city in NY. He'd have blacks in his neighborhood trying to break into his house all the time. When they'd be out in the street making all kinds of noise and harassing him, he'd step out onto his porch and pop off a shot from is shotgun in to the air. They'd scatter like chicken sh**ts, and the cops were never around to do anything. He had to handle it himself. They beat him pretty bad once and tried burning his garage down. He finally had the sense to move out of that hellhole into the suburbs.

I laugh when they bitch about their situation and the conditions in which they live. They way the blame whites, you'd think that every night gangs of white kids come in from the suburbs and trash the black neighborhoods just to keep them down. Ridiculous.

You know nothing. Gun fantasy type. Do you take pictures with your guns? Do have a sizable collection. Do you like gun porn? (Whateverthatis).

People allow themselves to be victimized but they do not wish to be a victim and do not have the heart to kill someone. Go back to your video games and kill kill kill pussycat. See you in the real world where you'd be shakin' like a leaf if it came down to it. More, if you enjoyed defending your homestead there champ with death, you should be locked up for murder porn. Sheltered, opinionated, lousy Americans.

PS, I quit smoking yesterday and am in the worst mood.

I visited Philadelphia last year and noticed I was one of the only white people at the places I went. I really didn't feel any negative attitudes by the people I met there. In fact, it almost seemed as if the people there were generally friendly towards me.

So which came first?
Distrust of the police,
or untrustworthy police.

I submit to you that in all my worldly travels I have always found it was the former,
that bred the latter.

If we want to solve police issues,
we don't substitute a camera for partner.
People put into blind dangerous situations is
difficult enough with out having to go it solo all the time.
What happened to the mentor system, and the partners in one car.

In the LAPD case, the actions of criminal LEOcaused the fear and discontent, and the court order for cameras.
Any lack of oversight is blatantly ignorant.

Anti Authoritative? You betcha. Im an American. It's kinda in our nature. The US was founded on a discontent with tyrannical oppression from unchecked lunatics in power, and lack of individual rights to safety and liberty.
You act like it's a crime to question authority, when it's asked of us in our own constitution.
Why do you think we were initially given the right to bear arms? Not to defend the land from outside threats but to save us from our own government if they became corrupt.

(BTW,Im not advocating violence at all here^^^^, we as a society can move past that, but I am stating a historical fact.)

No authority can possibly know what's best us if they can't openly keep their own house in order.

Did you know that insider trading is perfcectly legal for say.... a congressman?
Not for you or me though. Wed be jailed and have our assets taken. Political influence on the market has ran rampant and cost millions of americans their future.

Anti authoritative? damn straight.

Only the blind aren't.

As an ealier post also stated, I was about to star and flag this thread until it became obvious the OP was turning this into a political statement.

Forget how this is may be a cultural, community, economic or a bad decision-making issue....let's make it about the Democrats!

Why does ATS allow such "ignorance"? I thought we were here to deny just this sort of partisan garbage, yet it keeps getting worse and worse. It will only continue to get worse until the election is over!

You cannot hesitate. People are losing their minds.

Those guys are lucky. An AR-15 could have had them running for their lives.

More dead bodies, including him and his family. Escalation of violence never works. Stop watching TV and role playing how your guns will save the world, and instead look at solutions to why we're here. I hope your gun keeps you warm at night...

Questioning authority is a duty.
Antiauthoritarianism is a growing dissaster.
It has crossed the threshold.

These are two very different things.

My socio-psycho-historio-graph of the whole thing is this.

Antiauthoritarianism used to be cute in school,
when the student really did know more than the teacher
and left the class in a state of more understanding,
but now it has become code-name thugg and
the graves are already dug.

The whole libeal system is antiauthoritarianism in Philidelphia
If I owned a radio station I could probably get convictions,
then add in the conspiracy laws and we could start
indicting Dem leaders.

The reason I don't is because the question remains unaswered.
Who is going to address the very real, and growing
strain of Antiauthoritarianism that is running
in larger and larger blow outs.

It's way past the point of cute anymore.

Yes America and world, This is what blacks do in philly. This goes on at ever increasing rates and the cops never call it a hate crime. Meanwhile if you look at a black person the wrong way your a racist, you have an altercation with a person of any color besdies white and they automatically call it a hate crime. Wait in 2 weeks when the skin heads flood over from Camden, we're gonna hear about alot of "hate crimes" and we're gonna see alot of crying black mama's on the news blubbering why her gangster son who was found dead with a pistol in his hand and drugs in his pocket didnt deserve to die.

your to trusting in your fellow man. I have no enemys but times are hard, that gun is there for when a crazy person comes in to rob us, kill us, and or trys to rape my wife when im gone and out of state. by saying "no mister, please, im a nice person" is not going to help you when a crazy person is there to do you harm.

you will learn this one day in your life and you will reflect back at the comments you made and wonder how you were so ignorant of the world.

The white folks in Philly are not a nice group anyways toward blacks... the white gangs there are well documented. Sure it stems from whites protecting their blue collar jobs from the blacks, but the racist burden falls squarely on whites first. As they say on the playground: "They started it..."

That was beautiful. I believe I am a racist because I am white. Not because it has been proven that I hate every other race, but simply because I am white. The only way to avoid this ridiculous stereotype is to marry a black woman and, at all times, stroll around with our kid.
