NASA To Host News Conference On Asteroid Search Findings

WASHINGTON -- NASA will hold a news conference at 1 p.m. EDT on Thurs., Sept. 29, to reveal near-Earth asteroid findings and implications for future research. The briefing will take place in the NASA Headquarters James E. Webb Auditorium, located at 300 E St. SW in Washington.

Now I wonder what "implications for future research" actually means.
There is any number of things I could think of here.

There is any number of things I could think of here.

I know the SLS/Orion to launch beginning around 2017 wants a manned mission to a nearby asteroid. Perhaps they have a candidate to name? Maybe wishful thinking on my part.

Looking at the fuller press release, I doubt my wish will be granted.

Pretty much, but they have shown some cool models of the data. They are basically finding that we are safer than they predicted.
