The ATF is upset that the media is calling a personnel change within their department as a promotion, and they reassure us that it is not a promotion but a 'lateral' transfer. So the agents were not promoted, but they weren't demoted either, when they should have been FIRED.

This just proves that even when the government commits a crime, they will not punish those in charge but will merely switch them from one position to another, without even demotion. It is a shell game in which they can shuffle agents around without actually reprimanding them, so that they can be protected while also out of the public spotlight and away from their previous occupation where the crime was committed.

Does this really come as a surprise? They look after themselves more then anything else. Why would they get rid of agents that will do their bidding no questions asked just because they got caught this one time?

It is what the Police do, the cops do, the military does.
It is the way fraternal organizations handle problems among the ranks.
