Hasn't always been humans mind you. What about the lesser creatures like dogs, cats, koala bears, ants, whales, amoeba... etc. Our bodies are in
constant warfare with viruses, bacteria and fungus. All of these systems are living systems, surviving based on limited behaviors and physics.
We could debate that war is a function scaled up from the micro-organism warfare fought in our bodies daily.
